Maps In Development

Postby oaktown on Tue Nov 06, 2007 8:40 pm

It is my hope that this thread will provide non-Foundry regulars a quick and easy way to see what's currently in production. Note that this is not the correct place for discussion about specific maps. If you want to voice your opinion about a map - and we encourage you to do so - please follow the clicky link to the appropriate thread. Thanks!

Mapmakers are invited to post information about their projects in the format outlined in the second post. As a result the list will occasionally grow as maps are added, and shrink as maps are accepted for play.

Mapmakers:
To have your map included in this thread in a manner which relieves me of having to do the formatting, please copy and paste the following into a new thread and provide the relevant information:

Code: Select all
Title of map here - Clicky

Mapmaker: Your Name Here
Description: Three or four sentences describing your map; why you're making it, what it means, why we should play it.
Territories: # of terits here
Special Play Features: bombardments, partially held continents, victory conditions, etc.

Please keep thumbs small; max height 150 pix please. You may include additional information in your post but only the above info in the above format will be indexed.

Right now I am listing everything in the order that it is posted here... I could spend the time alphabetizing, but i doubt it would make much of a difference to Joe User who is perusing these maps for the first time.

I'd rather not have to moderate anything that is posted here, but I do reserve the right to include only that info which is relevant to this thread, as well as to remove any map for lack of movement/activity in the Foundry.

Map title: Age of Realms Trilogy- Chapter 1: Age of Might - Clicky
Creators: DiM, gimil, yeti_c
Status: Final Forge
Number of Terits: 96
Special Play Features: it has 90 terits that start as neutral and it's the first map that has a win objective (holding all castles).
Description: Age of Realms Trilogy- Chapter 1: Age of Might features a new gameplay concept where each person starts with just 1 territory (a castle) and expands by 'liberating' villages' resources and factories. It also features an immersing story set up in a realm of fantasy where the goal is to start as a noble prince and rule the kingdom. but due to it's chapter based nature this is only the beginning. chapters 2 and 3 will bring continuity to the story and will add twists and turns in the plot. all 3 chapters will take place on the same map but each time the landscape will change to portray the events in the chapter plus new gameplay features will help make each chapter unique.

i know the description is a bit long. i took that from colemans foundry news :)

I have the thread up and running in the Map Foundry.

If you have already posted about your map in one of the threads, you do not need to re-post about it in the other one. We will be copying information back and forth between the two threads.

I've never specified dimensions, though wcclimbing may have done so in the foundry thread. I just said to keep them "small," but I'll impose stricter guidelines later if it becomes a problem. For now I'm more concerned about keeping the height down so the first post isn't too long, and the Galactic Conquest thumb is shorter than others.

I was trying to impose them but fine. 150 max for height is something I strongly recommend.

150x150 dimensions are also what i had suggested. but if its at 160x160, that should be ok, but still pushing the limit. as long as the pic isnt A LOT bigger than 150, it should be OK.
