One of the best part about a world domination game like this...is that you get to play against real people. With real, unique, and sometimes dumb strategies. It's wonderful and horrible all wrapped up in one, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

A way back burner idea: Have ya ever played the old Risk by Hasbro with the scenario option, it has a storm that moves and you can’t attack between it and “Random Events” afflicts players with things like: revolution, plagues, famine, desertion, etc. It’s a riot, be prepared for a very long game ...

key word "option" the freedom of choice. if ya dont like that style then dont play it. some of us would like it. i wouldnt stop playing the other styles, it would just add more to the game. no need to get your panties in a bunch.

you could install a 5 minute time limit on deployment, so as to prevent newbs from taking all night or something

Yeah that bites! if should be only one player attacking while in turn. The first one to begin turn should go even in freestyle.
