well, america is a big place so cant generalise. but ive watched Borat - and yes its only a small section of society, but the 'we can americanise him' wtf.

the Spanish American war. Teddy & his boys. my grandfathers fought on the spanish side. the US took the Spanish Virgin islands, guam, phillipines etc. 1890. to do what? to make it a bomb testing site. and to use the people as guineapigs and sterilizing women. yeah, that pisses me off.
About all the WW2 arguments...I can sum most of them up by saying, "Take out any one of the allied powers, WW2 would have been lost." There, problem solved.

id love to visit USA and see what all the fuss is about, but from what ive seen/heard many americans are arrogant - they want to Americanise everyone and have this self importance about them as they are a big land mass.
There is hardly and history of America, its a very new country.
I chose to write about the US civil war many years ago at college when given the title of my coursework as being 'is war a catalist for change?' i wrote about the slave trade. pretty nast stuff.
