Iron, and in fact, all metals are reasonably plentiful in asteriods. Of course, they are hugely outweighed by silicates, organics and volatiles, but the are still reasonably plentiful. as for electro-magnetic effects, Neutrino is right. The chances of it actually hurting us are slim to none unless it is made of a huge amount of iron (not impossible, but unlikely)
