I guess if there was a strategically important territory you wanted to take that you didn't have the muscle for, it might make sense to cash in early then.

I too think that it's not clear what the different symbols mean. "you may hold an item (the Salem Cross) that the witch cannot stand" implies to me that by holding that item, you will prevent the witch from attacking any of your skull territories.

Hi. I'm a n00b to CC, so I was somewhat bemused to receive a rating of no stars for gameplay and attitude, and just 1 star for fair play. I was tagged "Clueless", and "Poor Strategy".
Now the tags I would probably agree with - hey it was my first few games - but what's with the star ratings (OK ...
A London map would be cool. I think a transport one would be problematic, mainly because you couldn't easily decide which "continent" a "territory" belonged to (Waterloo is on the Northern, Bakerloo, and Jubilee lines e.g.)
But a map with famous London landmarks and areas would be sweet.
