Yes, it's based on the two games I've played that Scum didn't know other Scum from start. I didn't know about the normal game D1. So, if this is a normal game then Scum know from the start D1. That changes everything. There might be a tiny bit of Scum-dust in the sense of Ragian sort of ...

I don't want to risk to vote on a Townie that is active

As I see it - the objective D1 is to find out which one are Scum or Town. Unless someone says I'm scum that will be difficult. Regarding vote, an inactive player that is quiet and hasn't made one post - I can consider to cast a vote on that player.

With that said - it's D1 - and scum don't know who their companions are until N1, right ? so one "can't" defend anyone during D1.
