i think 1v1 depends too much on luck, especially on classic. i often see people starting with the whole of south america or oceania. this lets them win incredibly easy.

this is a good idea, but how is it different from a normal 2d map? when looking at the compiled version i cant make out any details

this map is looking good; i have only 1 suggestion: make the country names more visible by enlarging the text or letting the white glow be slightly brighter.

i think washed watercolor paper is the best of the lot. however, i agree with gimil that the bonus for orange should be down to 2; it has too few territories. If you want to leave it at 3, at least give one more territory

1) make the sea lighter colour with a texture

2) move malaysia upwards (i dun think its so close in real life anyway)

I agree that receiving troops after a missed game is very unfair. it allows people to purposely miss turns and utterly destroy u in the next turn. this is especially so in team games as the teammate will help to protect the player who is missing turns.
