I've played risk since I was a little kid...but usually with sub par players who only played for something to do. My background is the game "Diplomacy" which relies less on luck and more on negotiation and tactics. I truly do not understand the Conquer Club culture where I've seen many players ...

Why not have customizable rules for time limits, etc.?

A good feature might be to change the amount of time allowed between turns and the amount of missed turns before someone gets booted from a game. I've joined several games where people join and then miss three consecutive turns. It drags the game out for 72 hours when it doesn't have to.
