-I thought he was fairly well-respected around here. He posts are usually fairly logical and well-founded without flaming, so I'm quite surprised how many votes he has.

Without flaming? That's all he does in any and all posts directed at me.(That's why he is a GOLD MEMBER of my ban list) Surely you jest.

So are you saying that Woodruff's arguments boil down to "you're not enlightened enough to understand my brilliance", which is a backhanded way of calling the other person stupid? There's some definite anti-religious bigotry there in the 3rd quote. I'll have to go back and see the context of how it was applied. Was that quote from Jay from another discussion?

Oh, there's no question at all that my responses are arrogant. That happens when you're the smartest one in the place.

In fact, I have stated quite frequently that I am one of the most arrogant people I know. I often make fun of myself IN THESE VERY FORA because I am utterly convinced that I'm the smartest person here. Because, you see, arrogant that I am, I am also still able to laugh at myself. Hell, I've even done it in this thread specifically.

But if you don't respect someone ONLY because they're arrogant, then you're missing out on a world of education.
