The Packers are the ninth different NFC team to reach the Super Bowl in the last ten years. (it's been 7 years since Tampa Bay demolished Oakland in Super Bowl XXXVI 48-21)
The Seahawks are the first team to reach the playoffs with a losing record
and the Packers are the first 6th seed to reach the Super Bowl.
I"m glad my ole' buddy from Cal got the pack into the superbowl... GReat thing for a young (only 3rd starting season) QB to do. BUt in this one, you gotta hand it to the Pack defense and the Bears' play calling; it sucked and the Pack;s defense pulled this one out.

Just a guess.
I'm looking for packers / steelers superbowl, not sure who will win it though. I hate the jets, and dont care either way about the bears. So....im really hoping pack/steel, it'll be the only matchup that im going to set time aside to watch.
PS - the commercials have largely sucked the last few years. Whats up with that?

I wouldnt really label that a choke, aside from the missed TD pass in OT. But lets be honest, there were some calls that went the way of the Cardinals, specifically 2 plays where Fitzgerald clearly pushed off Wodsen to get open and scored TD's.
And yeah the superbowl should be a great game i kinda hope it comes down to the wire even though that would be nerve-racking.

By teams we haven't seen dominate, I was referring to some teams that haven't been to the Superbowl in 30+ years. Steelers, Packers, Colts, Patriots to be exact. I would like to see a Browns v Lions Superbowl. Neither have been there, would be a fresh experience.

The NFL has done f*ck all to make sure everyone's even. It comes down to management/coaching skill, and frankly, the Lions have none of it.

Actually, I do think the Lions have it now. Getting rid of Matt Millen was the first, greatest step in the right direction. But thanks to him, it's still going to be a while.

Yeah, this year, the Lions were a few plays away from being a .500 team and a healthy Matt Stafford away from being even better. Quite a step up from being 0-16 two years ago.
i could see that happening though i think it will be a little more high-scoring.
Agreed. I hope it ends up like this game from last season. T'was truly something to watch. No matter how it goes it should be one of the best Super Bowls yet (and the last few have been epic).
Last year when the pack played the steelers, the lead changed 4 times in the last 8 minutes... I'm predicting a higher scoring game, although it will be interesting to see the high flying Packers offense battle the stout steelers defense, and the consistent and not flashy steelers offense take on the packers equally stout defense.

Incorrect. The Steelers won it a few years ago by being a 6 seed. I remember because that's the farthest the Broncos got in the Playoffs in a while (conference championship losing to Pittsburgh).
Yup... Denver was the #2 seed that year and lost 34-17 in the AFC Title Game
to Pittsburgh at Mile High Stadium. The same playoffs Chicago and Carolina
destroyed each other in the Divisional Playoff leaving the survivor to play in
the NFC Title Game at Seattle the following week.
I was thinking the Steelers (11-5) were a 5 seed wildcard team...
but they were indeed a #6 behind Jacksonville that year with
Indianapolis Colts in the AFC #1 spot.

I guess we'll see on game day if they can hold off the Green Bay offense like they did against Warner a couple of years back.
I like the Steelers to win and I also like a DEF or ST TD to be scored in the game.
One thing that will help the packers is it is a dome stadium, their offense is well suited for dome play. Though i must say this could very easily be a high scoring game or a low scoring game. Both defenses have the ability to shut teams out and both offenses have the ability to put up points.
