I'm not really sure who to trust at this point.

Anyone could be mafia I think I read in another thread that auto's roles are completely random.

Today will most likely be a random vote but it will give us our first voting record and we can see which way people are leaning.

because I have not played with him before. He hasn't said much at all. Infact he has made 1 post. That smells like a mafia laying low to me. And unknown players scare me in these games.
Like the others, I have to go to school. I made one post before I went to bed,and now is the only time I get on. I play my games in the morning and sometimes check the clan forum but rarely post then - I'm then on from about 4-8 GMT.

Also, I'm pretty sure that in the past you said that not posting was not a mafia tactic (I thought it was) - contradicting yourself? I'll find the post if you need it but you probably remember what you wrote...

No, I am giving my opinion on whether he is mafia or not. And that opinion is no. Based on what I remember of him as mafia in the first game. The truth is, if wisse was mafia, and I was also mafia with him, I'd be pretty happy to see him die on day 1, and if you dont believe me, look at our last game together. We were mafia together last game, and I had the abilty to trade a mafia member. So I told my other mafia partner it was in our best interest to trade away Wisse for another townie, and then kill him off, because he was bound to take us down. So there's no way I would even come close to connecting myself with Wisse if we were both mafia here.

Yea, they are the same. But do you know the odds of being mafia in 4 straight games? It's pretty high. And as a Poker player, I believe strongly in odds. Is that any way to play this game? Maybe not. But this early, it's all I got to go on. I just dont think he's is mafia. Could he be mafia, and I'm way wrong, yes. That's the chance I'm taking.

Funny, we had this same conversation in another game about me. I have been mafia more than I haven't been.... guess you'd call that good dice. :lol: I'm sure I'll get some noob saying OMG, then you're mafia now. :roll: My point is that's a dumb reason to defend someone. Think about it... each game is run by a different mod using a different randomizer with a different amount of players listed in a different order playing different setups with different number of mafia.... nothing about that is fixed. In poker, the cards are set, so comparing poker odds to mafia odds is akin to comparing bananas to a a nuclear bomb.

That is not my reason for defending him. In fact I'm not defending him, I'm just giving my opinion on whether I think he is mafia or not. Just like you guys giving one about him being mafia.

No MB, we're not saying he IS mafia, just that he has the exact same chance as any one of us of being mafia. Past roles should have no bearing on whether he is or is not mafia this game at all. Can we please drop this?

I voted him because he was last to post and well, he's annoying and I've never seen him contribute much. Am I convinced he's mafia? No. Am I willing to lynch him? Yes... because there'll most likely be no smoking gun on day 1. Am I going to push a vote on him? No. At the end of the week, I'll go with whoever's most scummiest at the time.

While I don't necessarily agree with MB's vote, I totally concur with his sentiment. The unknown players do indeed have the chance to trip us up. There's not nearly as much of a book on their play styles, and the more unknown/submarining people there are as we get farther into the game, the better the odds that we'll end up going after them on day 3 or 4 because they look mafia-ish, instead of going after more fruitful targets.

I'm reminded of the way for dummies kinda lingered in auto's last game, and how easy of a lynch target he became, simply because he didn't post much.

But it's still early, we've still barely heard from some people, and I recoil at the thought of using random.org...

As far as the Wisse thing goes... it's hard for me to make any concrete determinations about him. I only played the one game with him where we were both mafia, and it seemed like he got lynched not because he looked overwhelmingly mafia, but because he wasn't posting much of substance and complaining about a toenail or some such. So I don't have much of a book on wisse either.
