I don't think the heretics in this case will be led by a cult leader. In the last inquisition, we hunted out the heretics who were swaying the towns faithful to their cause. This time, we're just hunting the moors. I wouldn't rule it out though, given that the moors are (IIRC) muslim.

We might have a free thinker (or multiple), though I think that might fit better into the idea of cult leader.

What does a free thinker do, assuming it's a mafia role?

I am, so far, not convinced by either Wicked or Mandy, and consider denouncing them both in the hope that at least one of them is scum.

Given that both are experienced mafia players, they might even be playing a game here to convince us they're on different sides, when perhaps in reality they are not.

I too would like to hear more from those who haven't said anything.

Regarding the cult theory or whatever it was called, if historical reality is a guideline, I think the odds of Christians being converted by muslims anno 14something, are slim to nonexistant, barring forced battlefield conversions. Then again, who know to what extent historical reality applies to this game...

I expect that later this game day, I will denounce either Mandy or Wicked or both.

it's not a mafia role. Since the ideological battlefield here consists of the church on one side (town) and the muslim moors on the other (mafia) it's not beyond the realms of possibility that we have a renaissance-esque "cult" in the free thinkers, who are aligned with neither.

Thanks for the clarification regarding cult. Given the time line, I guess Renaissance free thinkers are a possibility, although off the top of my hat most of the famous scientific heretics lived later.

I'm glad you understood me and I hope you assumed I understood myself too.

I find it hard to judge n8freeman. He always seems to submarine. In some games he's scum, in others he isn't. I guess I'll wait until tomorrow to do a count of those who haven't shown up at all yet, and I'll be happy to join in their collective denouncing.

For now, I'm still mostly looking at Wicked and Mandalorian.

Masons aren't necessarily on the same side and don't necessarily know what side the other is on.

What a bunch of horseshit. Your post looks good, but it tells us NOTHING of value. Who says that it has to be either wicked or mandy as the only possibilities for mafia today? I think you forget the probability of one, much less both, of them being scum... with 21 players we can bet on a maximum of 6 bad guys if divided into two factions, 5 otherwise. Me? I'm rarely willing to make such a bold statement like, "I expect that later this game day, I will denounce either Mandy or Wicked or both" when so much can change in 3 days time.

I'm not FOSing you or anything because it's Day One and we will more than likely miss today unless we denounce something like 5 or more people.
