No other tankers were stopped after the Exxon Valdese accident and all trains are not stopped after a train wreck, therefore it was wrong to halt drilling while drilling rules and procedures are reviewed for safety.


Simlar analogy -- People in rural areas are allowed to have pit toilets, therefore every skyrise in New York should be allowed to do the same.

The rig in question is, er (WAS) an experimental/exploratory well. Toilets and trains are NOT a valid comparison at all. They have a proven track record, of being relatively safe, you moron.

The moratorium is only on a few similar deep water, exploratory wells. This "accident" has proven without a shadow of a doubt, that a blow out in these depths, can not be fixed with the current technology, so, barring closing them down permanently, the next 6 months will be used to inspect and evaluate these deep water wells. Seems like a pretty rational, and intelligent thing to do, if you ask me. But then again, I am NOT a mindless dumbfuck Republican drone.
