Well, SFX! has gone AWOL from this tournament, and has not answered any PMs, so I invited ronc8649. All the other Round 2 games are underway, I guess its time to start setting up round 3 to keep this baby moving! Also, scoring for first round has been pretty basic, and scoring for second round is just based off the game log, so that is nice for me! I will post score updates when first round games finish.

*EDIT: I just read the game log for SFX!'s game, he is being sat apparently. Oh well, Ronc8649 inherits 4 points, that lucky devil.

Wow, in Game 5759125 there was four captures! Most of the other games the winning player never lost their castle, and so there was only three captures. Cool game guys, although it took me forever to figure out your scoring.

I have now, Blinkadyblink with 1 capture (4 points)
Ryall55 with 1 capture (4 points)
Kotaro with 1 capture (4 points)

Kotaro held his castle the entire game, so no points there.

Some strategy notes about Round 4.

The highest number of territories owned is interesting in this game. The desert territories are good for adding to your numbers, but have decay.

It is the highest PEAK amount, so your highest single amount in the game (at the start of your turn). So if you get up to a really high number, it might make sense to try to take the objective and end the game. Or is it better to try to take over even more territories?

Also, you don't have to own every territory on the map to win, just more than your opponents.

Keep in mind that if these games drag on too long due to unnecessary building, I will impose round number limits.

I had to following question by PM, the answer of which I am sharing here.

For 8 player games, the scoring is like this:
Rank:
If the game rules state that points will be awarded by rank, this means
1st: 8 points
2nd: 6 points
3rd: 5 points
4th: 4 points
5th: 3 points
6th: 2 points
7th: 1 point
8th: 0 points


what do you mean By rank? .... our rank in conquerclub or when we get eliminated?

What I mean, is that I will rank you for the game. So in the current round, round 4, the person who does the BEST, that is has the most territories, will get 8 points. The person with the second most territories will get 6 points, and so on.

For this tournament, your Conquerclub rank is irrelevant. I am ONLY ranking on how you do in each of your individual games.

Round 4: Two games still need to start. Both missing players received invites. I am confident both will join.

Round 2: Still only one game finished.

Round 3: All but one game completed, so if you check under the spoiler tag in the first post, you can see the scores. Round 3 scores HAVE NOT been added to the overall totals. I have it all in an excel sheet, so when all Round 3 games conclude (and Round 2) I will be able to update the overall standings.

For those of you living in America, this Thursday is Thanksgiving. I have a major assignment due on Wednesday, and then will be traveling until Monday. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that any updates will happen until that time.

OK guys I got up early this morning, and you now have standings from rounds 1 and 3 put up!!!

Also, apologies to Evil Semp for taking over for Kotaro, that is a pretty serious handicap.

Hopefully we can get those few 0s on the board soon.

Round 2 shouldn't actually have a huge effect on the scoreboard, as many people will have 0 points, and I think the highest I am seeing so far is 3 kills for one person, so that is only +6.

We have an ongoing Round 2 game, so I am waiting for that to conclude before adding those in.

Please check your Round 3 scores under the Spoiler tag to make sure they are accurate.

I haven't check the Round 4 games, I know my game is still in the early stages. I will get Round 5 underway soonish.

Well played you may have won that game but I thought that round was about territory ocupation not about winning the map. So I think others in that game will score more points for the territory they had. I could be wrong though well played a win is still good.
