Because you're jumping all over TWO's response, which seems kind of an easy target.

There has been a LOT of joke voting going on, so that makes it a little harder to get the facts straight.

First off, the bandwagon on TWO obviously started as a joke vote. He claimed maffia godmother, nobody is stupid enough to attract that kind of attention to himself early game (not even if you calculate a double-triple-reverse-psychology kinda thingy into it). So I'll buy the 'fake' claim there. People start jumping on him for the fake claim, still 'joking' actually.

But then this happens:
Campin_Killer wrote:Enough of the bandwagon for a joke
Why would he wanna protect someone from what has obviously been a series of jokes that started on page 1? Even if it wasn't a joke vote, this kind of play is still standard for a Day 1, no?

commander picked up on this:
Commander9 wrote:
Campin_Killer wrote:Enough of the bandwagon for a joke
Feeling the pressure that we might get your boss? :D
It's still a 'jokingly' answer, after which campin killer responds:
Campin_Killer wrote:I am not the one to be ordered on who to kill by a woman
I find it a strange reply to the jokes so far. Suspicious at least to warrant further investigation.

A few posts down, campin continues his strange posts with this:
Campin_Killer wrote:Sure, if you want to lose the only town hope.

He claims to be a hope to the town, what is a scumtell imo.

After these posts, there is a rather large exchange in posts and opinions between commander and fir. After this, his posts have been forgotten, burried by the exchange between commander and fir if you will.

This is the best lead I could find after rereading the thread.
Anything to add?

 Good point unvote

Since it's about time the joke vote stage ended I'll vote campin. Saying "I'm like really important and stuff" without any provocation doesn't stand very well by me.

Are we really going to go all over that again? The first vote was clearly a joke and not her weird response I've started getting interested. Day 1 lynches are usually a bit random and I just suggested a person that seemed the most scummy at the time. I think you've been in enough games with me to notice that this is what I always do - I find a person who acts the scummiest and then I go after it until either something else comes up or we get that person.
But... It was so artistically done.

Agreed on Campin, I find it unlikely that he would be so careless as to out himself as the "only town hope" right off the bat. That's just incredibly negligent to play a power role. I think he could be trying to preemptively cover his tracks as scum by throwing out a vague claim and point to that if he's pressured in the following days.

But don't forget that he's still rather new. I do agree with a FoS on him, but nothing more just yet. The only reason I'm FoS'ing him is that this claim had worked before for 2 times now (SF and Briarsburg) and if he picked up on that, he may be using it intentionally to cover himself.

I do think seeing past behaviour Campin might be noobing a bit but I would like an explanation of that quote:
Campin_Killer wrote:I am not the one to be ordered on who to kill by a woman
I suppose it might be related to some of you apparently thinking TWO is a girl but it doesn't make much sense to me either way...

Damn it all, we really need to have gender indicators when we play mafia. The only people I'm sure are girls would be skoffin, flores and Vio. Every time new people or old vets play, I end up guessing.

Because he had claimed a godmother, which would make him a girl(lol). My connection has been spotty lately, and haven't been able to post anything without getting disconnected for the internet.

The quote is some stupid little thing. If I was to be ordered to kill someone it wouldn't be by a woman(The AirForce being a different story, but pfft).

Honestly I think you're giving TWO's over-reactive response to the joke vote too much weight. I mean unless he's very manipulative, I think if he was scum he would've kept playing it off as the joke. To me, the fact that he over-reacted says at the least he isn't mafia, because he would then immediately be suspect, as is happening now.

Hm perhaps I'm reading too much into this as well.

-Tails
I essentially agree with this. I feel there could be a scum in either comm or firc, but to me Fir is more suspicious for this same reasoning and my already stated reasons.
Just out of curiosity - how exactly has mine behaviour been scummy?
You asked, I responded.

Although CK is starting to appear to be the latest suspect. I will await any further comments from him.

I find it weird that when someone claims to be very important to town without reason, the first thing you guys do is bandwagon on him. Why would a scummy say that?

What I make of everything, is that he first requested the joke bw to stop. At that time there was no harm being done.

Then herk albeit jokingly, said: D2 lynch? aimed at campin.
That's when he responded the 'towns only hope' answer. It's a very premature claim, and we would like some kind of explanation. But you bring a good point forward, maybe he just acted noobishly.
Again, that's why i haven't even voted for him yet, only the FoS.

Sometimes I can get overly defensive in mafia games. Somebody says D2 lynch or let's lynch him jokingly, next thing you know somebody takes him seriously and he is the claimed cop and BW takes off.

Has anybody here heard of sarcasm? Please tell me you have.

In my personal experience when a rookie claims something like that they are either scum or some irrelevant role not worth protecting. If they are the town doc or something they really should almost be shot on general principle for giving themselves away.

Re-reading the posts in question in context... I feel it is very likely camping is telling the truth about said posts being a joke. "Sure, if you want to lose the only town hope." Read page 5, and note that it was directed at herk. Besides that, it was posted while everyone was making wild joke claims.
IMO it's a bit suspicious that people pressured this so fast without considering the context, in particular Haggis_McMutton stuck out in my mind, from what I have seen of him he is a very active player, but I notice he stuck with a joke vote until called on it, then decided it was time to change to the latest "big case".

These latest posts are another matter, camping is starting to come off as aggressive, but I don't feel I have played with him enough to know if it is out of character, I need to think about it for another day, it just feels rushed....

Have to agree with this - very much truth spoken here. Haggis does seem a bit too eager for a fast-lynch and chose an easy target if anything. This alone doesn't prove anything, but it might be worth looking at and possibly even more than CK's gameplay so far.
But... It was so artistically done.
