Wasn't Frederick Douglass one of the fist African American's invited to the White House? I seem to recall this from one of his autobiographies.

Plus I learned about some new people! I figured that Mr. Changsha was a boxer and I spent a long time looking up boxers, but Frank Bruno never came up! Now I know... I also missed Ken Foree and Justin Fashanu-surprised he didn't come up while I was searching for black athletes or famous black homosexuals. Must be the American bias that comes up in some search engines.
