Why does Fidel suck? He outsmarted the power brokers of the U.S., outsmarted the CIA - no, he raped them actually - and used them to overthrow an extremely corrupt regime, he made fools of the U.S. again with the Marielito boat launch (ROFLMFAO), and he hasn't shaved his beard in 50 years. So tell me, why does he suck? The very fact that Bush hates his guts should give you a clue that you need to reassess here.

Well, he turned a successful revolution and something that could have been good to an oppressive regime. It has nothing to do with bush hating him.

Yeah i hate the oppressive regime part, but in spite of the propaganda you'll get from the good old US of A, it is by far the least oppressive regime in the history of Communism, and Cuba would not have survived with any less stringent form of government then or now. Hell, we still have a naval base there that they have never been able to get rid of. He is my hero just for holding out against the empire, and he didn't just hold out, he made utter fools of us twice. If things are as bad there as Bush would have you to believe, why are Americans fined heavily by our government if they try to sneak a visit there thru Canada? I know this firsthand, as a fellow social worker that i know well was fined 2500.00 for flying to Havana from Toronto. She said there were no slums in Havana, and the populace seemed much healthier and better educated than Puerto Rico, which we still rule.

He did some nasty things mate... he condemned possibly thousands to death and boasted about it! What kind of humble revolutionary declares to the UN general assembly "Executions? Certainly we execute! And we will continue executing as long as it is necessary! This is a war to the DEATH against the revolution's enemies!"
