if someone can have good morals without worshiping a god, then someone can have ayn rand morals without worshiping satanJuan_Bottom wrote:OK, ignore for the moment the fact that he goes to church and doesn't participate in orgies.
Now, where is there a divergence between the Rand principles that Ryan is teaching his staff and the Satanic principles that the church teaches? Anton LeVay, the founder of the CoS said that he took 'Ayn Rand's philosophy' and added 'ceremony' to it. Paul Ryan said "I grew up reading Ayn Rand and it taught me quite a bit about who I am and what my value systems are, and what my beliefs are. It’s inspired me so much that it’s required reading in my office for all my interns and my staff."
I don't see a difference in their philosophy guys.

http://www.churchofsatan.com/Pages/_FAQ03.htmlA. Why do Satanists worship The Devil?
We don’t. Satanists are atheists. We see the universe as being indifferent to us, and so all morals and values are subjective human constructions.
Our position is to be self-centered, with ourselves being the most important person (the “God”) of our subjective universe, so we are sometimes said to worship ourselves. Our current High Priest Gilmore calls this the step moving from being an atheist to being an “I-Theist.”
Satan to us is a symbol of pride, liberty and individualism, and it serves as an external metaphorical projection of our highest personal potential. We do not believe in Satan as a being or person.
Overall I think that they're an alright bunch of weirdos. =)E. What is “Theistic Satanism”?
There is no such thing. People who believe in some Devilish supernatural being and worship him are Devil-worshippers, not Satanists. Anton LaVey was the first to define Satanism as a philosophy, and it is an atheist perspective. “Theistic Satanism” is an oxymoronic term and thus absurd. In Satanism each individual is his or her own god—there is no room for any other god and that includes Satan, Lucifer, Cthulhu or whatever other name one might select or take from history or fiction.

Dude, you should totally contact the Church of Satan.john9blue wrote:i will say though that it seems like satanism is somewhat accurate in describing how humans actually act.. whether it accurately describes how humans SHOULD act is a whole different question.

http://www.churchofsatan.com/Pages/SatObj.htmlObjectivism, the philosophy of Ayn Rand, is an acknowledged source for some of the Satanic philosophy as outlined in The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey. Ayn Rand was a brilliant and insightful author and philosopher and her best-selling novels Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead continue to attract deserved attention for a new generation of readers. I am a strong admirer of Ayn Rand but I am an even stronger admirer of Anton LaVey for the vital differences between the philosophies of Objectivism and Satanism.
Hory sheet,"Ayn Rand with trappings,"
are you... proselytizing??Juan_Bottom wrote: Dude, you should totally contact the Church of Satan.![]()
sorry, no can do. as anyone who has watched "the dark knight" knows, the only sensible way to live in this world is without rules. and christian church officials have broken at least two of those rules you mentioned. so it's obvious to me that christianity leads to a more sensible lifestyle than satanism... just saying...Juan_Bottom wrote: They have rules for action, like not harming kids, not fucking animals, not killing people usually, and other practical stuff like that.

Phatscotty this is not a thread on how to take care of trolls. This is a thread to discuss what Paul Ryan is about - Randism/Satanism.Phatscotty wrote:Hank Reardon knows how to handle trolls
Gotta love the tolerance and respect that is shown to the candidate!Juan_Bottom wrote:Satanist Paul Ryan deals with Labor Day Parade harassment.
Ah, gotta love America. Poor bastard is pushing his kids in their stroller and has to deal with morons.Juan_Bottom wrote:Satanist Paul Ryan deals with Labor Day Parade harassment.
Frankly, I agree with patrickaa317...that was thoroughly repugnant, and I'm far from a Ryan fan.patrickaa317 wrote:Gotta love the tolerance and respect that is shown to the candidate!Juan_Bottom wrote:Satanist Paul Ryan deals with Labor Day Parade harassment.
HEY I'm on your side. I posted it because it was on-topic. I've said that I like Ryan as a person just not as a politician.thegreekdog wrote:Hey JB - try this out when you get a chance - Go up to some random couple pushing a stroller around. If you're trying to say that Conservatives wouldn't dare do such a thing.... well I think that you're far and away off. They only just took the popular "Don't re-Nig - vote Romney" bumper stickers off of the market, and we've all seen the pictures of the Tea Partiers who hung a blood-covered effigy of Obama at a protest march. They said it wasn't racist, though I strongly question that.patrickaa317 wrote:Curious, can you find any videos of conservatives approaching liberal presidential or vice presidential candidates in the same fashion?

True, but just celebrating Stanic values is itself disconcerting. It not like saying atheists can be good people , which is true. While Satanists will say Christians highly distort their ideas, it still is a set of ideas that pretty well goes against what most people consider to be good values.john9blue wrote:if someone can have good morals without worshiping a god, then someone can have ayn rand morals without worshiping satanJuan_Bottom wrote:OK, ignore for the moment the fact that he goes to church and doesn't participate in orgies.

Dude, what are you talking about?patrickaa317 wrote:So when those conservatives act that intolerant to liberals, do you see conservatives posting it in forums talking about how the candidate got owned as if it was some sort of proud moment for the ideologue?
How interesting.Juan_Bottom wrote:Wants to give tax breaks to the rich, and cut funding for education, medicare, and other social programs to pay for the breaks.
Actually, what you said was:Juan_Bottom wrote:Thought so.
I posted that video under the headline of Paul Ryan being harassed. Then everyone attacks me for gleefully reveling in his ruined parade. You guys are embarrassing. I said that he was being harassed, and posted it because it was relevant. I never once said anything about him being owned or acted as though it was a proud moment for any ideologue. Those people interrupting that parade are semi-retarded. Ya'll are just terrible readers trying to put people into categories. This wasn't created as an attack Paul Ryan thread.
If you meant to denounce the intolerance that was in the video, it wasn't very clear.Juan_Bottom wrote:Satanist Paul Ryan deals with Labor Day Parade harassment.
