Hopefully for Italy they're practicing penalties this time. If I remember correctly, Italy has never won a penalty shoot-out against Spain. It is however a great opportunity for the italians to try and get some revenge on that 4-0 eurocup final.iAmCaffeine wrote:I doubt Spain will beat them by much of a margin if at all. If anyone can defend, it's Italy. Tomorrows games will be interesting.
Yeah, it'll be interesting, probably the two teams with the most missed chances. I hope the absence of Rami and Kanté won't weigh in too much, because I'm rooting for France. Go neighbours!!betiko wrote:I was wondering what would be the funniest way to beat england. I guess a brexit on penalty shootouts could be fun! Cause we all know that in the en, england always loses on penaltys!!
Oh, and tomorrow we ll be back at saying that italy is shit after spain spanks them nice and hard.
Unfortunately when we met Wales during the qualifiers Bale was wrecking our defence both times, and now we have so many injured plus a yellow card absence for Vermaelen there. We seem to be in the same kind of trouble as France. Hopefully Hazard will be in top shape again playing in his beloved Lille.betiko wrote:At the end of the day you belgians can bless the italians for beating you on that first game... When you see how impossible their board is and how freaking easy it is for belgium... Hungary, wales and probably portugal, a team that hasn t won an opponent in 90 minutes in the entire competition. Seriously, belgium is in the final.

Most of our squad has f*ck all experience to be fair.betiko wrote:ah come on... England is light years better than wales for this type of games... a quarter final is way above wales's league, and England has the experience for these games.
I'm having fun here, but I think it's gonna be 50/50 against england.

betiko wrote:Well we went from playing northern ireland to finally play ireland because of that irish goal lol
That goal also kicked out turkey!
Anyways quarter finals seem quite obvious:
Poland vs Croatia
Wales vs Belgium
Germany vs Spain
France vs England
The final will be croatia vs spain

One thing seems almost certain. Wales-Belgium has a high probability of being a boring game. All games we played each other during qualifiers were boring, with Wales setting up camp in their 16 and Belgium basically endlessly passing outside of it. Both our teams know the other very well, as we've played eachother 4x in the past 4 years; both during euro qualifiers and world cup qualifiers.dakky21 wrote:Don't be so sure Caff. Wales can beat Belgium.
Iceland shown what they're capable of. They can beat France. They can beat Germany... Wales can beat all as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the final match is Wales-Iceland. This EURO is weird.

Honestly I think the italians are going to lose against Germany. They're the most consistent team in this eurocup and just like the italians they are a very well organized team. However nasty his nosepicking and arm pit smelling might seem, Löw is definitely up there with Conté among the best coaches in this tournament. Just like the italians every single one of their attacks has been a studied system as opposed to intuitive football.betiko wrote:ok so now if wales beats belgium just call me Mary Sue seriously.
And yes, the winner of this euro will probably be the winner of the germanyny Italy.
And yes, it's very likely that iceland will beat france because they are on a freakin roll man.
it's great to see how spanish people are so desperate to see that their winning machine is gone.
I'll go for a poland/belgium and a france/italy semi finals
a france italy would be my wet dream; it's been such a classic in the past 20 years in official competitions with pretty even results:
-france beats italy in the WC'98 on penalty shoutouts in 1/4 finals and finishes world champion
-france beats italy in the EUR'00 finals after italy winning 1-0 till the 93', we equalize on the last minute then eliminate them on golden goal by Trezeguet
-Italy beats france in the WC'06 finals on penalty shoutouts with all the zidane/materrazzi shit; Trezeguet misses the last shot that bounces just on the line, 5-4 italy
-Italy beats France in the EUR'08 in group stage and eliminates us making Netherlands and Italy go through.
Remember the last eurocup semi finals, the wc2006 semi final in germany... And i know there are a lot more. Italy is kryptonite for germany.waauw wrote:Honestly I think the italians are going to lose against Germany. I was thinking about this. When a UK non-English athlete succeeds (Andy Murray, Bale, Rory), England celebrates them as if they were one of their own. When a English athlete/team succeeds, England claims ownership and the other UK countries can f*ck off.iAmCaffeine wrote:Wales can f*ck off, their team were celebrating when England was knocked out, meanwhile most of the English supporters have been backing every UK team and Ireland. Maybe France doesn't have as many sheep so they're trying to find entertainment elsewhere.
