How about for the legend, a the backs of a bunch of cards spread out, so that their still overlapping? something kinda like this:
except the backs of the cards?

So do we reckon the layout of the cards is pretty much set?
I'll knock up a new legend - and then WM can get to work on his version of it?

OK just been speaking to WM - and he's gonna tweak the legend for me...
So the changes we're going to do...
12 Neutral territories - as described in earlier post.
Bonus legend will read...
Royal Flush = 15
Straigh Flush = 13
Four of a kind = 11
Full House = 9
Flush = 8.
Straight = 7.
3 of a kind = 6.
2 pair = 5
1 pair = 4
High Card = 3.
C.
PS (Note that the code will be <minreinforcements>1 And the above awards will be one lower than displayed)

something i noticed. The ace of clubs has more graphix on it then any other ace, and from experience, the ace of spades usually seems more important

Yes I am still here. I have been really busy lately but I am still working on them. I can tell everyone right now that once the army numbers are put on the cards, we will need to rearrange stuff.
So basically the layout of the cards will change due to army #'s and readability of the card type.
I will try to post a prelim pic tonight.

OK here is WM Version 01
http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/8070/pokersv01wj0.png
It is the small version. Once this is setup I will easily be able to scale it up for large. I am doing this in Adobe after effects and all of the assets are actual 3D elements. It is easy for me to move stuff around so once I get this closer to what yeti had, we can make quick changes.
Planned changes/Additions:
- -Add a wood grain boarder at the top of the image to represent the edge of the poker table
-Add many more chips in several stacks at top and bottom with shadows and 5 different colors (White, blue, black, green ,red).
-Add an ash tray and cigarette.
-add a drinking glass?
-Try to see if I can get some hands in there like a person is sitting at the table playing. Probably the top left of the image.
-Once layout is set, add slight shadows from the cards to the table and from the top cards to the cards below (simulate the stacking of them)
-Rework the sigs (I will need to ask yeti what he wants)
-Tweak the Title/legend as needed (need to add attack description - touching cards can attack or something like that & No territory bonus)
-Maybe add a watch or pretzel bowl (again to add to the feeling of a real poker table).

2 things for now...
in the royal flush place it looks like it says Acc. maybe make the "e" more defined?
what is the attacking ways? for example, where can the 7 of spades, and the 10 of clubs attack?
i'll think of more later, but right now i gotta eat. no more from me today...

I will look into fixing teh Ace
As far as teh layout, it is not done. I just wanted to get a picture out there for everyone to see. The cards can attack any card they touch

agreed, nice start. I get the sense that the cards in the foreground aren't using the same perspective as the ones in the back, giving the sense that the table isn't flat.

They are the same, the table is flat. I am not doing this in photoshop. it is done in after effects. Every card is a 3D layer and they are all located in 3D space. It is all the same perspective trust me.
I plan on giving each card a little drop shadow to help give the feel of depth. Especially for the cards on top of other cards.

i like the 3dish look, and i like where you're going with the elements that make it feel like a real poker table, but i think most important right now would be the card layout itself?
what are you gonna do WM?

If you mean gameplay layout, there is a gameplay image in the first post. I will attempt to copy that layout.

WM Ver.3
This should be the same arrangement as yeti's gameplay image on the first post. (I rotated it 180 deg clockwise though)
Once this is approved for gameplay (borders, bonuses, etc) I will add more graphic details and make the large image too.
