If you really want to make this site more family friendly, you should be praying that flame wars stays. Think about it, without flame wars, where would all the "flamers" go? If it offends you that much, dont click the link, its simple.

i dont go there anymore but like once a month i take a peek and it doesnt seem like many people have even evolved past homo erectus yet, there is one or two homo sapiens, but they still havnt evolved their primitive brains that much

How does this effect you? Why do you care if you consider a forum to be filled with the ancient decedents of man come back from the past? And Wrestler has probably caused more uproar and flaming and whatnot than he could possibly prevent. Irony at it's finest.

Oh and um... safer? What? Do you think these forums pose a physical danger to yourself or others? If so, perhaps you should see a psychologist. It is not normal, nor even a sign of a slightly overly healthy imagination, to think so...

PhatJoey, I don't know what else to tell you other than to not go to Flame Wars if you don't like what's posted there. Think of it as adding someone to your ignore list.... they can still play here (we won't kick them just b/c you don't like them), but you don't have to put up with them. It's PERSONAL CHOICE. What we allow to be posted in FW fits within the guidelines set for the site. This information is all well-known; no one should be shocked to enter Flame Wars and read what they read.

i am sorry to those who believe i want flame wars gone, i dont want it gone i want something better

what i want is the flame wars to be... for lack of a better word "cleansed". it would be nice if the trolls went back under their bridges and the cans of spam recycled

Pretty metaphors are fun, but I think it'd help your cause a whole lot if you actually explained what it is that you're proposing. At the moment it just seems like you're having a whinge for the sake of whinging... I think we'd be a lot more receptive (and this discussion a lot more productive) if you outlined the precise changes that you're lobbying for.

Or does your suggestion essentially boil down to "I don't want to change anything, but I do wish you'd all be nicer to each other"? If it is then what the hell are we doing wasting 11 pages of forum talking about it?
