Well you could get a larger monitorDukasaur wrote:I know that I'm just a lone voice in the wilderness and nobody really cares what I think, but I'll tell you anyway.
I'm totally against any and all supersize maps.
I want to play a game, not spend my time scrolling up and down. If demonstrating my dexterity with the wheel mouse was my goal, I would go to scrollupanddown dot com, not conquerclub dot com.
CC does not need more nightmares like the Hive, Antarctica, and First Nations Americas. We need more nice, neat, compact maps like Europe 1914 that fit on one screen and are fun to play.
Thank you.
Yea the colors need tweaking, but for the capitals I'm not married to the +1 auto on them, so the +1 for every 3 could be done.koontz1973 wrote:Interstates are so much better as they are very easy to see and understand. Looks a lot less cluttered this way, even though they look bigger. Just a tweak in colours to separate the ones that are close together and look similar (10,40).
As for the capitals auto, it would seem to me that in adjacent and chained reinforcements, these extra troops are going to be ignored. I cannot imagine this map taking less than 15/20 rounds to play, so a lot of troops are going to build up and become road blocks. This would stagnate the game for even more rounds. Why not a bonus of +1 for every 3 while keeping them starting neutral.
Background is better still.
Yes at one time I was going for more of the regional colors. The colors will be changed later.Victor Sullivan wrote:One thing that has been bothering me for a while is the colors of the states in the New England bonus. They have no central color. Western is yellow, Rocky Mountains is blue, New England is...what? A conglomeration of pinks, greys, browns and greens? In WidowMaker's map, New England was light blue. I think you should strive for that.

If you're talking about taking the gaps out, then so far others want it to remain as it is.natty_dread wrote:I think you may have missed my latest post
I am working on these as we speak.Gillipig wrote:The interstate lines look better now. These I like: Road 5, 10, 15, 25, 35, 40, 75, 80, 90, 95. These needs a little tweaking because they hurt the eye a bit: Road 20, 55, 70, 94.
I like the flag in the background but can you make it a bit more prominent? I guess you've already tried that though.
Keep the name Mega USA! Not only does it fit the map very well, it also gives you a pretty good name to build on in case you'd like to make a follow up. Say for example Mega China, or Mega India. I'd love to play Mega India!! We don't have enough maps of India!

I understood that, just joking a bit I guess. I just saw that the colour of the interstates on the map doesn't match the colour they have in the legend.isaiah40 wrote:Sorry, I should be a little more specific. The interstates!
Yes, I am doing the interstates first to make sure the colors will work before I update the legend.Gillipig wrote:I understood that, just joking a bit I guess. I agree. I like the name for it truly is a mega map.Gillipig wrote: Keep the name Mega USA! Others? Who are these others, because I haven't seen anyone expressly wishing that the gaps stay in the map...?isaiah40 wrote:If you're talking about taking the gaps out, then so far others want it to remain as it is.

An inset won't work because where would I put it? With the mini-map there is no room. Yea I could remove Alaska and Hawaii, but that will not be done because others have asked for them and I made room for them. And as I have mentioned earlier, I will work on the outlines of the states while in graphics because that issue is NOT gameplay related. The Bison King wrote:I have pretty much agreed with every point Natty's been making. I think the gaps make the map nightmarishly convoluted to look at. Yeah you've got the the whole New England Issue but there are other solutions to that problem that are worth exploring. Namely an inset, I don't remember the specific reason you dismissed that before but I'm pretty sure that you could use a simple inset to your benefit here.. Also the states just need to look better. period. There's no good justification for having them look like bizarre ill=proportioned blobs instead of what they actually look like.
By closing the gaps you would actually create more room.An inset won't work because where would I put it? With the mini-map there is no room.

It's a good way to clarify where bonuses are.Victor Sullivan wrote:Menatty_dread wrote:Others? And I would like the gaps to stay as well, just become more uniform.Gillipig wrote:It's a good way to clarify where bonuses are.Victor Sullivan wrote:Menatty_dread wrote:Others?
