I think this is interesting. I don't know if the mafia would be darkfriends and shadowspawn, or if it would go for more important named villains, like Baalzamon, Aginor, Balthamel, and Padan Fain. Also, possible to have Mordeth as a 3rd party (Fain could also potentially fall into the 3rd party category, but I feel like that would be in later books more than EotW).

I can see the argument for considering HotShot as being with mafia, but I'm currently of the opinion that he's town.

You dont, and you dont need to.

You need to work out who is mafia and who is town. And whilst you're doing that it is helpful to know what powers everyone has. Their character name in itself is not important in itself.

Hmm. It really depends on what he got out of it. I can only think of one town-aligned character who could do that but it would be really weird for that character to do it, but there's also that 3rd party I mentioned who, if you take something from them, they corrupt you, so it's more likely to be that if not the actual mafia. But I don't know why a 3rd party would get a vote stealer.

Unless it's also the kind of thing where one character interacted with a specific character, which caused that reaction (and the person who controls your vote wouldn't control anyone else's). If it's town, flavour-wise it's either a warder bond (likely town), a gift from Mordeth (scum/3rd party), or some weird character dynamic. But I'm more inclined to believe it's one of the first two.

How does this help us find the mafia? If you dont start contributing to games you will find that you get lynched day one regardless. I say this now because I believe you to have a minor town role and to be of minimal loss to us. If I cant find a decent candidate to vote I shall be advocating that you get lynched on this basis.

I think this is a perfect example of what others have said and don't ;ike your playstyle. Was this truely necessary?

For the amount of confusion it would create, maybe we should lynch madmitch while we can afford to. And for all we know, we might be hitting mafia. Better than doing it late game. Can anyone present a reason not to?
