Hah. That's nothing. Can you take a colonel and make him a sergeant? No. Ok, we win then!

This ladder system was created after test running an ELO ladder which had a hard time dealing with a lack of data, and mid-level clans winning significantly over newer clans which led to some skewed results.

How this Version Works:
  • Once a clan challenge is completed, it is added to the database (Excel File)
  • Using some complex calculations and look-ups, it calculates out Win Percentage (WP), Opponent's Win Percentage (OWP) and Opponent's Opponent's Win Percentage (OOWP), and the Reliability Factor (RF). (See below for Factor rates)
  • An RPI is generated for each team, generally between 1.00 and 2.00 using RPI = [(WP + OWP + OOWP) * RF]
  • Based on all the RPI's, they are all scaled up to a Grading out of 100 with the top Clan at a 100 Rating
Reliability Factors:
  • 0.00 if your clan is extinct
  • 0.80 for 1 completed challenge
  • 0.85 for 2 challenges
  • 0.90 for 3 completed challenges and less than 61 total games
  • 1.00 for 3 completed challenges and more than 60 total games

looks like nemesis to be dropping some and empire upping it UP.

Could be an even bigger difference under the proposed ladder. Reminds me that I need to issue some voting notices....

Bandits are just one above the water fury? What is this drivel? Will the clan league affect these 'positions' considering the beating we have given the majority of clans that have come our way so far in the top division ;)

The entire ladder is skewed right now... KORT is below us :? , DBC is way too high  and grim reapers, KARMA, and Gorgonzola pirates are repeated for god knows why...

I know its a little late in the game, but I was just looking at this. Am I correct in understanding that the RPI does not include the number of clan wars won and lost? That only win percentage and owp and oowp go into your ranking. So a clan could theoretically win 2 wars and loose 5 and be in first place if they dominated the 2 they won, and lost the 5 by a close margin, and all were against opponents with good win percentages.

This seems like a bad system. Wouldn't it be appropriate to mix clan war wins and losses into it, and not just the percentage of games in clan wars? The way this works, winning the clan war or loosing it is almost insignificant.

How about something like [(WP + OWP + OOWP)*NCW + (CWW-CWL)]*Rf Not sure if it needs work, but maybe run it and see where everyone stands. NCW= number of clan wars, CWW=clan war wins and CWL=clan war losses. I threw in the NCW because otherwise the first number (WP + OWP + OOWP) would be like 1.7 or something and the second number (CWW-CWL) would be like 5 or 8, and the equation would be apporximately (CWW-CWL)*Rf so I multiplied (WP + OWP + OOWP) times the number of clan wars played, so that that number would still be significant compared to clan war wins and losses.

Very late to the game, there is a new ladder being voted on this week in the CLA.

It would be nice if TOFU could be part of that voting procedure in the CLA. We've done our 3 months, won a challenge, and requested admission by PM on a couple of occasions yet met with no response.

Any news please JP? Many thanks.

i think it's quite right that a minimal win is rewarded in minimal terms. it would be a shame to exaggerate a 31-29 result on an arbitrary basis.

The next ladder being voted on has decay and challenge size factors, plus divides the clans into 2 classes.

True but we have had clans apply when there were games still left to be decided in their inaugural challenge. Rules are rules and we voted on whether exceptions should be allowed and it was a clear no.
