no no no
you need to find a female bill, then make then have kids
then select the two with the highest value, say 10.00000001 and 10.000000002 pounds, and mate them, then repeat. as long as the variation between parent and child is a .0001% increase you will have a 20 pound bill in 693148 generations

The female is on the front of the bill, I think it's queen Elizabeth, of course every british queen is named Elizabeth.

Incidentally, in the UK it's a "note".
In the UK you get the bill and you can pay with a cheque.
In the US you get the check and you can pay with a bill.

First off, I'm a 4th generation Irish American, and I don't give a rats ass what they call anything in the pUKe.

Second, I know it's called a note, I even call it a note here sometimes, but wasn't sure everyone would understand.

I'm a failure as an American.

Good to see the spirit of international friendship hard at work in the forum.

FWIW, I'm a 3rd generation Irish Brit, living in a town where two of our children were murdered by the IRA 15 years ago, using bombs paid for by nth generation Irish Americans (among others).

But we're not bitter.

PS I think this is definitely heading off topic

I'm sorry to hear about your kids, but I didn't say anything about supporting the IRA.

P.S. It's not getting off topic, "It's just evolving"!

I didn't mean my kids - I meant two kids from my town. Sorry for any confusion.

And I wouldn't dream of accusing somebody of being an IRA supporter just because they express some anti-British sentiment. It pisses me off, though, the rather stupid idea that because Cromwell behaved like a twat 300 years ago (plus various other interesting historical events), that a entire nation of largely decent people can be condemned out of hand. If you hated the French, that would be understandable . . .

I actually don't have any resentment for the british people as a whole, I dislike certain aspects of the british government, which for the sake of diplomacy I wont delve into, but other than that, I have nothing against the UK. I may call you a "stinking limey" from time to time, but it's all in good fun. What I said earlier, though I mentioned the UK in particular, was really more a reference to europe in general. Over here in the U.S., there has been a push to do things in a european way, there have even been court cases where one of the lawyers will actually site a ruling in a european court as example as to what should be done. Are money is starting to look a lot more like money over seas. Are new president, just sworn in today, even went campaigning in Berlin! Most don't notice what's going on, they've all had the wool pulled over their eyes by the media, and for those of us who do notice, it drives us absolutely bonkers.

P.S. The French can go to Hell!

"Are" can not be used as a possessive pronoun, the correct spelling is "our".

We like your new president, largely because he isn't Dubya. (BTW, "W" over here in somebody's name is short for "wanker", so we were hugely amused when he made the "W" sign everywhere he went!) The money worries are just as strong over here, although they're often described as being American in origin, because of the sub-prime problems which exposed the whole sorry mess in the first place. It's interesting that you're concerned about Euro influence - we feel strongly bullied by the US Government on a wide range of issues. Tony Blair was heavily criticised for being Bush's poodle. For all that, the US is probably our fave ally.
