You have to realize there are lots of topics to post in and things to do, or he could be checking it for a bitzel. There are many explanations. 2 hours isn't really that much of a time.evilchaos wrote:Anyone else find that question scummy? I don't know what he's referring to as a mafia alliance (possibly the normal alliance between mafia members, but it sounded more specific than that). It sounds like something he got out of a role PM that he wanted clarification on, not a general question about how to play the game.
I also find it suspicious that his profile says "Last visited: Wed May 11, 2011 5:17 pm," yet he didn't respond to my question. He may not have checked the thread at that time, I guess, but his only ongoing game is a Sequential Doubles game where he took his turn at 3:30. There's no way he could have just been checking for his turn, as he had just taken one.
Want to offer an explanation for the question, Hank? Where did you get the term from? Until then, FoS Hank.

I know it isn't lurking as it was only an hour after my reply, but I checked and he literally did nothing else on his account (unless he checked another thread and didn't post). Maybe I'm just reading too far into it. The question just didn't make sense to me.Fircoal wrote:You have to realize there are lots of topics to post in and things to do, or he could be checking it for a bitzel. Agreed there is definitely something fishy about that. Maybe my original joke vote on thefissk should be my real voteStreaker wrote:Unvote
Vote thefissk
This is a somewhat more serious vote though.
We can see evilchaos (and for good reason) call hank out for his very odd question.
Right after thefissk seems to vote evilchaos for no reason at all. Not even a joke vote. Looks like he's protecting his buddy there...
Explain this, or you're getting my vote as well.TheFissk wrote:vote evilchaos
As far as the not posting part? Yes, yes you are. However the question you asked is still ok.evilchaos wrote:Maybe I'm just reading too far into it.
TheFissk wrote:ah... my vote for evilchaos was because he was seriously pressuring anyone who made a single move and i wanted to see he reaction to a surprise and aggressive vote... on second though it does look really scummy... although his wording is good...

However, be warned that being over-aggressive and jumpy, switching votes around a lot and jumping on every slight move someone makes is pretty scummy and may attract you negative attention.
Fissk is a new guy and he is learning, he had his reasons and now has come accross as a little scummy by backtracking. However, I personally think that he is innocent and just trying to hunt leads and play the game. However, you've come accross to me now as just a bandwagoner trying to hide in the middle of the wagon.jonty125 wrote:unvote vote Fissk for voting a player with no reason (at the time of voting) and then providing a weak defense.

I've seen this sort of tactic done before. While his execution was lacking his head was in the right place. A new guy picking up on a tactic like that is commendable.jonty125 wrote:unvote vote Fissk for voting a player with no reason (at the time of voting) and then providing a weak defense.
Yes we all see it. Shield is like me four years ago (when I played seriously). That is to say, he says foolish things that are likely going to get him lynched. He's improving.jonty125 wrote:*cough *cough*shieldgenerator7 wrote: I haven't seen any major scum tells as of yet, but I'm tempted to hop on TheFissk wagon because it looks fun.

Are you seriously going to vote me for pushing on new guys every single game? It's getting a little tiring Fircoal. He's the one bandwagoning the new guy for quite the minor slipup in my view.Fircoal wrote:Jonty is a new guy and he is learning, he probably had his reasons and now has come accross as a little scummy. i think you could have been a little more creative than just copying his post and changing the last sentence but i guess their are time constraints...Fircoal wrote:Jonty is a new guy and he is learning, he probably had his reasons and now has come accross as a little scummy.
