I also find it suspicious that his profile says "Last visited: Wed May 11, 2011 5:17 pm," yet he didn't respond to my question. He may not have checked the thread at that time, I guess, but his only ongoing game is a Sequential Doubles game where he took his turn at 3:30. There's no way he could have just been checking for his turn, as he had just taken one.

Want to offer an explanation for the question, Hank? Where did you get the term from? Until then, FoS Hank.
You have to realize there are lots of topics to post in and things to do, or he could be checking it for a bitzel. There are many explanations. 2 hours isn't really that much of a time.

I know it isn't lurking as it was only an hour after my reply, but I checked and he literally did nothing else on his account (unless he checked another thread and didn't post). Maybe I'm just reading too far into it. The question just didn't make sense to me.

I am still confused by the Survivor reference, but that is most likely because I never watched Survivor.

Vote thefissk

This is a somewhat more serious vote though.

We can see evilchaos (and for good reason) call hank out for his very odd question.
Right after thefissk seems to vote evilchaos for no reason at all. Not even a joke vote. Looks like he's protecting his buddy there...

Agreed there is definitely something fishy about that. Maybe my original joke vote on thefissk should be my real vote

ah... my vote for evilchaos was because he was seriously pressuring anyone who made a single move and i wanted to see he reaction to a surprise and aggressive vote... on second though it does look really scummy... although his wording is good...

unvote evilchaos

hope i didn't make that fatal mistake...

As far as the not posting part? Yes, yes you are. However the question you asked is still ok.

:-s
This seems terribly scummy to me. A quick vote on a player with no explanation, gets called out on it, and quickly unvotes with a very weak explanation. It seems like fissk is afraid of the town for some reason. Fissk, in the future, have some conviction. If you make a controversial post, defend it. It will turn out a lot better than just saying "my bad" like you just did.
unvote vote fissk

With 21 alive it takes 11 to lynch

I have asked karel if he still wants to play. I have also asked naxus if he is ready to step in. No players will be prodded until after Friday, when Comm9 gets back. Then I will send a handful out.

You'll fit in well here then :D

However, be warned that being over-aggressive and jumpy, switching votes around a lot and jumping on every slight move someone makes is pretty scummy and may attract you negative attention.

But most of that's in my job description! lmao

unvote vote Fissk for voting a player with no reason (at the time of voting) and then providing a weak defense.

Fissk is a new guy and he is learning, he had his reasons and now has come accross as a little scummy by backtracking. However, I personally think that he is innocent and just trying to hunt leads and play the game. However, you've come accross to me now as just a bandwagoner trying to hide in the middle of the wagon.

My vote goes on you, unvote vote jonty

ok, so this whole thing exploded when Hank asked about Mafia Alliances.
My guess is he meant he wanted to have an alliance with another player, hoping that the other player was also town so he could be more protected (from vig kills, cop investigations etc). I don't find the question all that scummy although I uunderstand why it looks that way.
I haven't seen any major scum tells as of yet, but I'm tempted to hop on TheFissk wagon because it looks fun.

I don't think Jonty or Nag are scummy at the moment. Jonty joined a bandwagon that made sense. While joining a bandwagon can be a scumtell, it isn't always. If it was, then no one would ever be lynched by town. Nag just went overboard, in my opinion, in voting for Jonty.

Out of the three, Fissk had the worst reason for a vote, although I can still understand it to some degree. It's not enough proof to lynch.

And for the record Fir, your vote was essentially the same as Nag's. If you think it made Nag guilty, then it makes you guilty.

I've seen this sort of tactic done before. While his execution was lacking his head was in the right place. A new guy picking up on a tactic like that is commendable.

Yes we all see it. Shield is like me four years ago (when I played seriously). That is to say, he says foolish things that are likely going to get him lynched. He's improving.

Fir seems to like going after experienced players. They are more fun to pin than noobs.

Are you seriously going to vote me for pushing on new guys every single game? It's getting a little tiring Fircoal. He's the one bandwagoning the new guy for quite the minor slipup in my view.

Also, fircoal you are way out of line on this one - firstly you are skimming. If you've actually read the thread rather than going on obsessed prejudices and devolved thinking which in every game is vote nag and defend the noobs  you would read that firstly evilchaos - in my view came accross a little aggressive and over-hunting leads, I didn't find this scummy however I made a comment of advice to him, then a bandwagon developed on fissk for calling out evil which jonty with weak reasoning jumped upon. If I was going for the easy lynch which you have now accused me of doing in 4 games in a row on day one (POTC, Firefly, Nolan and this one) then surely I would've just bandwagoned fissk like everyone else has done.

i think you could have been a little more creative than just copying his post and changing the last sentence but i guess their are time constraints...

plus i have half a mind to vote for you for a similar same reason everyone is bandwagoning me (at least you tried to explain your self) but i'll hold for now...
