I just will never understand walking 2 guys intentionally with the winning run on third with one out. This is what the Dodgers did last night against the D'backs. Then you pressure the pitcher to throw strikes with no room for error. Needless to say the winning run scored on a bases loaded walk. Vin Scully said it best when he said " you have the pitcher throwing 8 straight balls then expect him to throw strikes after that." :-s

Devon Wise incredible homerun-steal in the perfect game?

Buerhle's start after the perfect game, when he was throwing another perfect for some part of the game?

or Manny's buble-head-pinch-hit-no-warm-up-swing-first-pitch-lead-giving-homerun ?
I would go with Harry Kalas's death or Jayson Werth stealing home, but I'm a homer.

I think the Wise catch was freaking unbelievable, so if I were neutral (i.e. not a Phillies fan), I would go with that.

The Manny thing was ridiculous considering they kept cutting out of the freaking Phils game to his at-bats when he first came back. I read an interesting article in SI (the back page) about how Barry Bonds has been villified for steriod use, but Manny and Big Papi are hardly criticized at all. Ridiculous.

I don't see much shake up at this point in the season. I think the only team that isn't currently ahead of the wild card or their division is the San Francisco Giants.

Texas is running out of time. 17 games to go and 6 back. Not good. San Francisco just doesn't have enough hitting right now.

Exactly why I think the teams that are ahead in the Wild Card and in their divisions will hold on.

And I officially give up on the Tigers. They are sucking badly and even if they make the playoff they will in all likelihood be swept by the Yankees in the first round. Football is here and hockey has started preseason. I'm done with baseball unless something interesting happens.

The Twinkies have cut it to 2 and the Marlins are making a bid on the faltering Rockies and Giants.

we'll see about the Phillies bullpen, if it werent in bad shape right now i'd figure they'd definitely repeat.

but we'll see now.

Phillies repeat?
Flyers win the stanley cup?

Bottom of the 11th, Twins and Tigers tied. Serbia is gripping somewhere. Classic game.

This is an incredible game.

(More innings = more tired pitching staff)

Well the Twinkies should make it interesting. Even though they got sweeped by the Yanks in the 7 games they played this year 5 of them was by 2 runs or less. And the Twins bullpen isn't that tired. Nathan is the only one who pitched 1.2 innings. The rest only pitched about an inning or less. Chances are the first game will be a throw away for the Twins and regroup for the rest of the series.

twins can beat the yankees

im not sold on the yankees, just a bunch of hired mercenaries. no team ever won with all mercenaries. usually teams like that fold under pressure

yankess from the 90's was based on smart trades and the farm system

Damn Stupid Holliday, I'm about to lose 100 dls because of him.

Actually, its kind of painful to see, I mean, Holliday always there, professional, not conceited like dominicans. I hope he gets a couple of walk off hits, doesnt' matter if they lose.

*Sigh*

In other NLDS news, why on earth is the Colorado game being played at night?? Even after they postponed one night game. That makes less than 0 sense.
