ROFL! Oh yeah, we are nut jobs. Like the Earth coming from some eternal ooze is "rational". Or that aliens started life of Earth as an experiment. Or some gases with no known origin created a "big bang". Yeah, give me a straitjacket and throw me in a padded cell.
Well, tell me, where did your god come from? "He's always been there" is not a valid answer as you don't accept it.
Actually, since God is eternal it is acceptable. He has always existed. He states that He has always existed. And Regis, that is my final answer!

Well, since life cannot come from nothing, then we must assume that God must have had a creator.
Or is God not alive?

Doesn't the whole concept of God having no creator DEFY LOGIC? Logic dictates everything has an origin.

God is life. All life comes from God. God had no creator, He IS the creator.
Yet, when an atheist uses the exact same premise and says that the universe is eternal, had no creator and has always been here...you poopoo it as scientific bunk.

And why? Because an eternal, all-powerful God is more fathomable then a eternal universe that has the ability to create planets, suns and black holes.

I don't know about you, but I've always found the stage much more easy to envision than the stage manager if you get my drift.

I haven't read this entire thread and probably won't. But logic does not dictate that there is a god. If you want to believe in god, fine. But logic as defined by mankind currently rules out knowing that there is a god. Please don't confuse people who might be interested in taking a college level logic course. God is something you take on faith, not logic. I won't post anything else for two reasons.
1# I'm too lazy to read through this entire thread and post a more intelligent response.
2# If all it took was a quick online post refuting god logically, you guys probably wouldn't believe in him currently.
3# It's called the scientific revolution. It's been around for a few hundred years. Climb aboard.
On a side note, I know that some people on this board have joined after serving in the military or losing someone extremely close to them... I have never experienced either of those things so I am hesitant to criticize your beliefs to harshly. I don't know if that makes sense but anyways...

I have heard this arguement before and I think I see where you are going with this. I suppose it depends on how you define the parameters of the arguement. I would be more likely to say that there is nothing contradictory in both accepting science and believing in the possibility of a deity.

But it's illogical that God should be there as all of those things are capable of creating themselves.

When & where does he state this?
(btw the word "he" is subjective and so shouldn't be capitalised)
I'm sure that there are other verses that state His eternal existence but the one I know off hand is, "I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end."
You do capitalize the H when speaking about God.....its a respect thing. (for those of us who do respect Him)

Does this not assume that the bible is the exact word of god?
Do you agree that, as the bible has been first written, and then translated, from the eyes of humans, then there is a very real chance that the work contains errors?

Can you not show respect without using poor grammer? If God did invent language, as I assume that you believe, I'd have thought he'd have wanted to use it properly ...
