Well, to me it looks less of a hat...
More of a Caribbean ritual wig of some kind with Predator elements.

My new avatar is my first creation as Mad Scientist.
I call him "Blef". He's Spamalot's new pet! static can be in charge of feeding him.

BTW, his diet consists of 5 villagers as day.
