You've got plenty of height to work with, but I wouldn't make the map any wider unless absolutely necessary... and even then, just a little bit.

799x436 isn't too bad, considering the number of territories you have. Eight Thoughts and Great Lakes push the guideline a little, but neither of those maps are excessively big. Just try to avoid going as big as World 2.1.
P.S. Why'd you delete your post?

I come back to the site, and there are like 5 pages of posts i missed....wow...you guys are fast!
Anyway: i agree with what Teya says about the graphics. Maybe some mountains, farms, or forests could help that.
Also the broken bridge can be a little confusing. Why is the path there if you cannot travel it. I understand, but maybe some players who havent checked the foundry will not know what is going on there.

i think the maps size is ok but the layout is wrong. perhaps think of moving the legend at the top. this way instead of having a map 1100*600 px you'll have one that's 800*800 px. it will look better.

i played around with part of the river a bit to make it look a bit more realistic, you probably wont have everything i have but into my bit of river because that would look weird, but try spreading out the things i used.
I dont know if you like it though.

I really want to animate that. I've been working on an animated map forever called Insanity, but I'll probably never put it on the site. Maybe if I have some time just for s&g.

about the legend. put it on top. this way people will have to scroll just to see the map. plus you'll have the title on top which is better.
you still haven't told me about the layered psd i sent you. is it ok? should i layer the other castles??
PS: telvannia. nice river. please post a tutorial on it.
