University of Texas is TexasMR. Nate wrote:No, they would be Central, Northern, Western and Eastern. MSU or State works, because none of the other schools have State in their name. But for UM, you have to call them by their full name, or use initials, because calling them Michigan narrows it down not a whit. Which is why I say that UM arrogantly assumes they are the only university in the state. They refer to themselves as Michigan. As if they are all that exist.Serbia wrote:This still doesn't make sense. It's The University of Michigan, and Michigan State University. So trying to call both Michigan doesn't work. What about Central, Northern, Western, and Eastern Michigan? Are they all Michigan too?
Besides your incorrect assumption that Macomb is a university (it's a community college) Why do you even care that UM has a good football program? It's not like you have any more ties to it than to MSU, or WSU, or OU. You're just a bandwagon fan.Serbia wrote:Yeah, attend... I've stepped foot in Oakland U, Macomb U, UM, MSU, but uh, attend... Dude I didn't even finish middle school!(no joke that!)

Ha, nice ukulele - I have one myself, but its not a flying V, its just a regular ukulele. I would like to learn some cool hawaian songs to play.dividedbyzero wrote:Okay...new pic from last weekend.

No, I really enjoy the humour of the moment during their Thanksgiving Day loss. Dad and I sit together and laugh at the Lions, and all the stupid things they'll do during a game. SOL really means "same old Lions". Whenever they do something good, it's either a shock, or vaguely like the Wolverines. But this year, I'll try not to sleep through any of it Luns.MountainLion wrote:Sad, but true...but not this year!luns101 wrote:Serbs, that's what I imagined you doing on Thanksgiving Day during the Lions' annual loss to whomever.

Yes.Serbia wrote:University of Texas is Texas
University of Florida is Florida
University of Oklahoma is Oklahoma
University of California is California, or Cal
Point being, all these states have other equally famous major universities. Is it wrong for them all to be "arrogant", and refer to themselves as though "they are the only university in the state"?
If your Dad went, I rescind my bandwagon statement. But in general, if you never attended, and no family member attended, but you cheer, yes, you're a bandwagon fan.Serbia wrote:And for my connection to Michigan, my Dad went to school there. for 2 weeks, playing in the band But really, since I didn't attend any university, or high school for that matter, am I not allowed to cheer for ANY school????
Sorry, nothing from the past 10 years of me playing sports. Maybe next time my wife comes to a game. How about me and my nephew playing some intense Mario Kart?luns101 wrote: The graduation was ok, but let's have one of you playing sports.
