what needs to be clarified? volunteers made them, CC owns them. hasbro has no claim on any map on this site, that was taken care of long ago. and even in instances when a map maker was thrown off the site and requested his maps be removed, CC declared they were still their maps. what are you clarifying for me? that has never even remotely been a question of mine...-Jésus noirmookiemcgee wrote:I was just trying to clarify for Esperanto Jesus that the conversation was about who owns the right to user created maps.

what are you considering ineligible?WingCmdr Ginkapo wrote:Anyone compared their scoreboard ranking with and without ineligible players. Thats extreme

A typo in my post quoted above was probably what confused you further. I've entered it above in the quote so it makes more sense.owenshooter wrote:what needs to be clarified? volunteers made them, CC owns them. hasbro has no claim on any map on this site, that was taken care of long ago. and even in instances when a map maker was thrown off the site and requested his maps be removed, CC declared they were still their maps. what are you clarifying for me? that has never even remotely been a question of mine...-Jésus noirmookiemcgee wrote:I was just trying to clarify for Esperanto Jesus that the conversation was *not* about who owns the right to user created maps.
first thing first, learn how to multi-quote... secondly, CC will never be able to use the work RISK, ever... Hasbro has it's own online RISK game... there was an alleged sell to HASBRO in the works years ago, that was when the great decline started (cleaning up the site for the alleged sale).. anyway, RISK will never be used on this site, unless HASBRO owns it...-Jesus noirmookiemcgee wrote:A typo in my post quoted above was probably what confused you further. When you quoted stringybeany here:
The important bit is to get the rights, take the small maps to app immediately, and take the user base to 100k and up.
It's not hard. It just takes $kull $weat.
And you said:
what rights? the maps are made for free by users, for the site... even when members have been thrown off the site and requested to have their maps removed, they were denied those maps... there is another site that has straight up rips of the maps and nothing has ever been done about it... i don't know what you mean by "get the rights"... can you explain further?-Jésus noir
I was trying to say:
stringybeany was talking about 'use of name' rights from Hasbro for name "RISK" to be used in advertising/SEO purposes. No one was talking about map ownership rights at all except you.

Less than 20 games played this month.....WILLIAMS5232 wrote:what are you considering ineligible?WingCmdr Ginkapo wrote:Anyone compared their scoreboard ranking with and without ineligible players. Thats extreme

Very true. There are a number of players who maintain less than ten active games at at time constantly.rockfist wrote:I've probably played less than 20 games this month. I am still active, I just have decided to play better - playing better means playing less games in general. I'll take on a bunch of games when our next clan war kicks off. 20 games completed in a month doesn't mean anything...I know dozens of others who are active but play low game loads.

The Great War has really bumped my count up. I was happily on 80-100 until that came along.Dukasaur wrote:There's just too many good tournaments that I just can't say no to.

no, but i will tell you that people will simply not read posts like that, that aren't quoted properly... kind of like how they don't read C&A complaints that aren't filled out properly... there is a quote feature and a layout/flow to the forums for a reason... but hey, you go ahead and post how you want... like confederates posts, people will either suffer through them or they won't...mookiemcgee wrote:First things first, I don't care if you like how I wrote my message, or are you going to tell me it was against the forum rules to post like i did?

I did a quick search of the app stores for the word 'risk', I notice the most common way people get around use of name rights, is to title their games like this:iAmCaffeine wrote:I don't think the word is necessary, no, but SEO has to be strongly considered and I'd bet the most common search engine term used to locate CC is "online risk". However, in terms of actual advertising it's not necessary at all. We just need decent design and budget for that.
