I don't quite understand what your saying, but if you are reffering to the northern border of the empire then this map isn't actually ridiculously accurate (as you can probably tell by the graphics). The sources I'm working from are much closer to the map I've actually created. Besides, it would only mean making the northern territories of the yuan khanate a tiny bit bigger and that won't affect playability whatsoever.

If you could find a map, qwert, then I'd be happy to add more territory in Russia. You have to bear in mind that the map is more 'curved' than a normal world map so perhaps the territory in russia looks smaller than it is. Otherwise, I can't find any reference to more territory on the maps I have consulted.

Also the great wall did exist (to varying degrees). There was a great wall as early as 220(?)BC. Various rulers added to or rennovated the wall constantly until the period of the map. At this time, however, the Song dynasty weren't paying much attention to the wal, and i believe it was mostly in disrepair (and certainly not in use as a defensive structure). I think you're reffering to the Ming dynasty who reparied and enlarged the wall between the mid 14th and 17th centuries.

I woudl be loathe to include large streches of wall as impassable borders as it was a somewhat neglected feature at the time, but I could use it to an extent. Which territories do you think need borders?

i think you should use parts of it, even if it could have holes, obviously it wasn't impassable...

ok i was wrong, though why would u want that wall since it is completly useless since it is in broken and in the middle of their empire

orange/brown looks much easyer to control then yellow but it has the same county's and borders

I think these bonuses are about right. 5 for both orange and yellow, 7 for blue . I think maybe 3 for green and 4 for red, as red is in the centre of the map and the impassable borders make it something of a chokepoint

So just to clarify, current bonuses are:

yellow: 5
orange: 5

Green: 3
Red: 4

Well, I like the early stages of this map! Lets see...

• First off, I want to say I like the chosen colors, and how they fit. They aren't too bright, or dark. A nice interesting set of shades we haven't seen very much of. I particularly like the use of the shadow behind the names, to make them a little clearer and more unqiue.
• You'll definitely have to clean up the border lines. They look rather thin and faded. I mean, don't push down a 50 px brush over the lines, but buff the thickness a little maybe.
• I like the use of the images in the wonderfully colored water, but the non-gameboard land areas kind of stink, and are too bright. Look into perhaps something not so bright.
• Not really liking images for the impassable borders very much, other than the Gobi Desert and perhaps the gray ones. Perhaps you could expand the desert a little?
• Are you going to use army shadows on this map, or are you going to attempt to do this map without them?

I'll look a little deeper and closer later...especially at the bonuses and gameplay.

I agree with each point in Andy's assessment. I love the shadows beneath the country names, and the colors look very good. I also love the sea, but I think you should tone down the images in the water a little bit. Right now they look good but are too strong I think and take away some of the focus on the countries.

You have some good graphical skills! Keep up the great work...
