I think what I might do is put in special "rooting sections" to connect the field and stands. One of the big things in Philly, especially when the Vet was still there, was the special rooting section usually up in the cheap seats, the infamous 700 level. They had little groups for most players, pitchers usually being the most popular, most notably the "Wolf Pack" for Phillies pitcher at the time of the Vet, Randy Wolf.
Each rooting section could
directly affect their player, and the player can affect the stand via his play. (attack between the field and that player)
