Yeah posting-wise it is indeed mostly americans. At least certainly the right-wing. I check mostly off-topics though, I imagine the general discussion forum is far more equally divided. Mostly americans and canadians.

Since I also check the players I deal with I've found a far more international group. Uk, netherlands, Taiwan, Finland and whatnot. Risk is an international game and posting on the interwebs is more common for the english speaking nations. I think that has to do with the language-barrier and the internationality of the US and UK in terms of politics (the presidential election gets a lot of coverage here and I'm certain that doesn't go the other way too).

Also for a wild and crazy theory I'm throwing out, I think Americans in general are more okay with broadcasting their opinions to everyone who wants or doesn't want to hear them. From the little time I spent there I gathered that they're really open and outspoken about what they think, which is actually really cool but you can see why that would overrepresent them on the internet.

I have not looked at the stats recently, but I do remember a year or so back (maybe more, I don't know) being told that over half the members had US server locations, Canadiens were a distant second (around 30% or so) and everybody else lagged behind.

Just flicking through the first few pages on the scoreboard its obvious USA has most members but not a majority by the looks of it. You sure about the Canada stat though? Seems most of teh others are either East Asian or European.

The relevance might be in that it shows that USAians are just more about broadcasting their opinions. It is not membership of this site which makes the OT topics about the USA, but the general nature of USAians vs Europeans and others. You guys love to talk about stuff. I do too. In fact, the most likely reason why I even know so much about american politics is because of you.

Don't forget that your politics and your elections have a far bigger effect on the world than our politics and our elections. I could name far more US presidents than you could name european presidents, any dude here in my country could do that because your politics extend to the whole world while ours don't even make it past the border most of the time.

That is sad. You can say whatever about Beckham but you can't say he doesn't give 100% in every game and specially in his national selection, even though things have not gotten good for him with England. I think this is the second time he's injured just before the world cup? The last time he made it... or am I thinking of another player?

It's sentiment like this that makes me an unamerican american. As a vet of the aforementioned conflict i say f*ck the US. If this were Star Wars we'd be the empire. As far as military today. None can reasonably compare to the US. Even those we equip.

The Soviets won WWII militarily, the USA won in reality. Without the Soviets it would have been 10x as hard to beat the Axis in Africa and Western Europe. The best German troops and commanders and weaponry were all on the Eastern Front. Numbers wise the eastern front vs western front is no comparison.
