I like the idea of a treasure chest with an auto deploy of 2or3 per turn :)

Nice one Bogan.

Some more ideas, hope you like em:

Have more ships:

2 'armada' ships - they can bombard all coastal areas. +1 bonus for holding both. They start as 2 neutrals.

2 Pirate ships - they can bombard 'armada' ships and attack (board) merchant ships and the treasure island. +1 bonus for holding both. They start as 2 neutrals.

2 Merchant ships. +1 bonus for holding both. They start as 2 neutrals.

Move the sea dragon to the centre of the map - It can be attacked from the pirate and armada ships and is a killer neutral (starts as a 3 neutral). It can attack all ships (and maybe the coast).

:D

Industrial Helix wrote:Yeah, i'd say drop that terr. number down to about 25. We've got enough 40 territory range maps.

Also, I'm in favor of losing the stick and ball arrangement.

I agree... not a huge stick and ball fan, organic chemistry nightmares.

What does stick and ball mean?

With the army circles and then the line connecting an army circle to another army circle.

In general, I don't like the dependence on army circles on maps.

I like the number of territs in the High Seas, but just having the serpent and the boat is a little boring... I think you could add a third object, maybe an innocent ship the pirates are attacking?

Also, I am in favor of some sort of gameplay related to the ships... they shouldn't just be ordinary territories. Being able to bombard each other would be in line with "reality" and would make for interesting gameplay without being complicated at all. Also, maybe a bonus for holding all the ships?

Alternatively, I like DJ Teflon's ideas =D>

Alright, I think I have enough feedback to start working on a new version. It looks like the main things that people want are: Lose the stick/ball layout, drop the territory count, and somehow work the ships into the gameplay.
Let me know if there's anything else you think I should consider doing. Again, this is my first attempt at making a map, so your feedback and suggestions are really helpful.

I would love to see this map developed. It looks really cool already. I have no suggestions but just wanted to say it looks really cool.

I like this idea!

early thoughts:

In terms of overall artwork, I like version 2 better. Except for the waterfall, that needs work.

maybe you don't get continent bonuses? maybe you only earn armies for holding treasure?
