I have no idea since I don't use GIMP, you'd better ask someone who knows that software...

Do you find some of the territory names hard to read?

Does anybody know how to add backgrounds using gimp?

Well like I said I know nothing about gimp... but first of all you need to learn the concept of layers.

Layer-based graphics softwares like gimp are the best for mapmaking, because during the course of your map's development you will have to make numerous small changes, and layers enable you to just change one thing without it affecting the rest of the map...

So as you started working your image on paint, your image won't have layers, so I recommend starting from scratch.

Layers work like this: you take the background image and put it on the first layer. Then create a second layer, which comes on top of the first, and on the second layer you can put all the territories, ie. the discs. Everything but the discs must be transparent on that layer, so the background will show. On the third layer you can put territory connections, and so on and so on... Then if you need to change one thing, you just edit the layer that thing is on.

If you have trouble using gimp, just google for gimp tutorials, there are plenty.

I guess I'll have to do that.
I also think that the number of nuetrals in each territory should be 4 instead of 3.

i like the mets and sweet child of mine :D

so you are ok with me.

Throw in a paint it black and some floyd :-)

Man I like where you are coming from and this is a start... but it has a LONG way to go.. I hope you are aware of this. Its a good theme, and from what law I know, song names are not usually trademarked, just he music has a copyright. So I believe you are clear on this.

I think the first obstacle you will have is this is a ball and stick map ... the theme is great, but ball and stickers dont usually make it all the way through.

look at poker club map and maybe you can do an overlap thing.

Also, you dont need a "gimmick" per say... but maybe come up with a gameplay Idea that is more innovative.

just my 2 cents.

Song names aren't copyrighted, I know some songs with the same name.

I'll take a look at the pokerclub map.

By "more innovative" do you mean something such as hold all of the guitar picks?

Maybe I should try that.....

well, innovative, I mean change the gameplay up a little.. make ppl excited about this...

for example, make a seperate gold silver and platinum album , put them in the middle with a LOT of access points... and holding one of these makes your records have a multiplier in bonus.

this is just an example.

I think I can come up with something good.

I don't think the overlap idea will work out.

Well, the graphics are going to need some work as records over neon isn't going to win any fans.

You also need to indicate how the gameplay is going to work with a bonus legend or something.

The biggest problem I see are the connections.
The question is how to connect them.....

Lot of colors... kind of rock and rollish. The connections need some work, and I think the picks should be a little smaller.

I cant read the instructions too well.

Looks like a start man!

Oh, those sren't just colors, that's an LSD trip.
I just noticed the bonuses are hard to read, and I still haven't figured out the connection problem.

Here's the latest update. I changed the location of the bonus key so it was more readable. I will add the territory names ASAP and I will add the connections once I figure out how to do them.
