Baaaaaaaaaaaaack on topic...Being that I pretty much drink Coke Cola like a fiend, I'd have to say it's best in a bottle.

I've had some odd tasting cokes for the record...Iraq's coke tastes...Funky? I mean it's coke but it's...Not? I don't know how to describe it but I drink it anyways. Only other coke I've had outside the U.S. is Mexio's which tastes the same in my opinion, and Germany coke that came in a odd looking plastic bottle.

Watch me die from pissing out the worlds largest kidney stone.

I go through like...two or three cases in a week.

Plastic bottle man huh... yeah coke and pepsi products do taste different around the globe, when i was living in Australia for 5 months, there MD tasted like crap, when back in the states its my fav. thing to drink... Coke for sure tastes a lot better here in Tland then back in the states tho IMO.

Kidney stones can come from coke? i was thinking that was from drinking too much coffee or eating too much ice cream?
Yeah man lol. I haven't had one yet...Probably grew a retarded tolerance to it.
Pepsi in Iraq is probably the most god awful thing I've drank here. It's almost straight like water but it keeps a hint of crap in your mouth.
must be like the "Pepsi Cheer" that they came out with here in Tland for the WC... not sure if they have it in the states but its nasty. When i first seen the can i just seen Pepsi Chee from the side in a can, and i thought Tland finally got Cheery Pepsi! Bought it, tasted it, spit it out, looked at the can and cried. Anyways back to Coke! Comon Coke in a can people! gotta love the fizzy bubbly!

In Germany, they actually have lemon flavor in their bottled Coke.

Indeed...that's mostly what got me off of Mountain Dew. Even if it doesn't kill you, you'll wish you were dead.
grifftron wrote: Kidney stones can come from coke? i was thinking that was from drinking too much coffee or eating too much ice cream?
There are definitely different things that can lead to them. But the caffeine is the thing as far as coffee/tea/soda, because of it's diuretic properties. Not enough water in the kidneys to keep them flushed out and the stuff crystalizes.

mostly, icy cold in the glass bottle.

the only exception... my late grandmother had these adonized aluminum cups and for some reason, everything was just colder and crisper in them when she put in crushed ice. anyone else ever experience that phenomenon?

There's a restaurant in Biloxi, Mississippi that uses tin cups of that sort, and the effect is the same (hell, they may be aluminum too, for all I know).

Odd, never tasted any lemon in their coke...Could have been because I landed in/near a military installation but oh well.

Drinking straight coke, I like it any way.

Mixed, preferably in a pint glass, with ice and Rye (canadian) whiskey ;o)

True, but i have been let down too many times here, go to the gas stations and pick up a quick fountain drink, then blah, nasty. But if its just right they usually taste perfect.

I have, over here tons of homes only have tin cups, mostly because they are like 5 baht a cup to buy, or even less then that, making them cheaper then a glass cup or plastic. Always colder when putting drinks with ice.

Can when in Europe. Glass bottle when in Canada or USA. Two-litre plastic bottle whenever kosher is available (around passover).

This is my vote as well... though not "straight from the tap"... but preferrably in a glass about 1/3rd full with crushed ice.

The key as naxus stated is if they have the syrup set correctly.

McDonald's settings are OK, but a little weak on the syrup.

There is a Pizza Joint I go to here... the pizza is really good, but half the reason I go back is because the settings on their machine for Coke is perfect.

I will say also, there are times I like my coke flat too.

If you have a night of heavy drinking... the best thing the next morning, dealing with the hangover, is cold pizza and flat coke. Being flat makes it easy to drink when hungover... and the sugar and caffeine help. I have been know to take the lid off a bottle before I go to bed, or even pour a glass and let the glass sit open in the fridge all night.

I don't know why, but when I was in Italy, I got cans of coke all the time. I'm not really a soda drinker, but I thought it tasted really good.

It's the sweetener they use. In Canada, and the USA (maybe other places too), they use high-fructose corn syrup, while in Europe (and definitely other places), they still use cane sugar. Kosher Coke uses cane sugar as well.

Interesting... how do i get me a can of that without going to Europe...

Coke in a can is rising slowly to the top!

the whole flat coke helping with a hangover is pretty neat, never heard of that, but still pretty nasty just thinking of drinking flat coke.

Kidney stones are aggravated by the caffeine. I learned that when I had kidney stones.

Coke from a glass container is best, you clean taste. The can would be my last choice. And I call it POP also.

It's only in some. There're all kinds of Coke in Germany, cherry flavoured, vanilla flavoured, and the lemon flavoured you mentioned, there are even beers you can buy pre-mixed with coke... *shudder*

It's been years since I last drank coca-cola, but back then I preferred it out of a cooled can.

Or with Jim Beam. Irish Whiskey and Scotch are too good to waste on coke, but one of the less abominable brands of bourbon works fine.

I've heard that Mexi-Coke is made with cane sugar.

A quick googling tells me that Thai Coke uses cane sugar as well.

My (totally unfounded) theory, is that European Coke has trace amounts of cocaine in it. Not enough to get you high, but just enough to make you want it again, really badly.

The original Coke has some cocaine in it.If i remember right they stopped putting it in when they found out the truth behind cocaine but i could be mistaken
