I was also having problems with the signature--make sure you turn the BBCode off or it wont show up (well that was my problem, at least)!

You do have the following set to Yes, don't you?

User Control Panel : Board Preferences : Edit posting defaults : Attach my signature by default: Yes No

And I think this will only apply to new posts.
