Fighting for a the rights of people who don't know enough to invest in private accounts and/or are too lazy to do so is a huge waste of time and life. And we all know that time is money, so quit wasting money.

This is called "communism." We live in a capitalist society, where the government doesn't meddle with companies, or "allow" them to succeed as you assume.XenHu wrote:everywhere116 wrote: Liberal...believes no one can achieve without the help of the governent...not the norm...

America relies on a corporatist-keynsian economic structure, which practically maximizes and establishes government control over the economy and businesses.
We are far from Capitalist.

Did you read a word that I just wrote? Capitalism can only be achieved if the government is eliminated at total. Right now, we have the government taxing (read:extorting) us and redistributing capital via social welfare and (more importantly in the face of economic defintion) corporate welfare.everywhere116 wrote:How do you figure?Jesse, Bad Boy wrote:LOL. No, we relied on the keynesian structure from WWII until Reagan set us straight. The government still pokes their head in once in a while, only to f*ck shit up though.[/b]Jesse, Bad Boy wrote:LOL. Corporations are government enforced constructs, taking money from the government in order to give back money to the government. This not only stagnates competition (a necessity in Capitalism), but it damages the economy of a long period of time. We can see this daily in the amount of subsidization and loans the government hands out to big businesses.
On the other hand, Keynesian economics advocates both mercantilism (modernly called Corporatism or Protectionism) and socialism for a balanced economy. The over all jist is for the government to invest in the private sector at the expense of the taxpayer. We can see this in our taxation.
Thus, we can conclude that America does not function on Capitalism, but rather instead a state run economic system, the Corporatist-Keynesian economics.

I am an Archivist for the Incorporated City of New York, most recently. Essentially, I need to know the history of the City of New York, am consulted when ever a place tries to get "Historical Significance" stamped on it, and sit at a desk all day long filling out paper work.Anarkistsdream wrote:Jesse, Bad Boy wrote:Did you read a word that I just wrote? What do you do for a living, man? You are damn well-spoken.

Before I give a response, let me ask you. Are you a liberal or a conservative?Jesse, Bad Boy wrote:Did you read a word that I just wrote? Neither. In fact, very few definitions narrow down my views to the point of a single word.everywhere116 wrote:Before I give a response, let me ask you. I new there'd be a succes story. Yeh many people do make a success of themselves, but again yes that is the exception to the norm, at least in the UK. If you are born in some areas theres really no hope of getting out of them, especially if you have a child yourself.millej11 wrote:My friend in highschool came from the poorest family in the town. Lets just throw money on them so that never have to work hard for what they want.

What gets me about his particular appeal to anecdote is that his friends house burnt down and was struck down by a tornado, seemingly in the same night. Talk about a stroke of bad luck.Guiscard wrote:I new there'd be a succes story. Yeh many people do make a success of themselves, but again yes that is the exception to the norm, at least in the UK.
