I'm kinda confused. I thought the first round was 2 1v1's, but my first is a 1v1v1?

Nope as explained in the OP, the first three games are 1v1v1 so we can eliminate a third of the contestants and proceed to the Duel stages

Only 4 games played so far and you're already hosting a tournament? 
One of the players in my game is a New Recruit! How does that happen?? Who just goes and decides that their first game will be a tourney?? Looks suspicious to me.

I'm not sure you've noticed but half of the players of this tournament are members of an offsite community. As it happens they decided they'd like to play a conquerclub tourney. As to why I'm hosting it, because I was asked to host it
