It was an early morning in the Circus. The Boss called everyone to the center of the main tent, where Barry Lubbin (Circus Clown NPC) lay dead on the ground.
Everyone was in shock. 'Who the hell wants to kill a clown', someone shouted. And killed he was, for his neck was twisted.

'I don't know, but we are going to find out', the Boss said. 'Shouldn't we call the cops', another circus performer asked? 'No', the Boss said. 'This happened in OUR circus, and WE are going to find out what happened and punish the one or ones responsible for this'. Everyone noddingly agreed.

This part in particular that I have bolded shows you knew that we were in joke phase and choose to participate in it. Which makes me believe you are mafia, this early interaction with Charm so early being as weird as it is I think is a slip from here and she has to pick a side between us because she wants to look right later on during the game. Charm is one to say she has only gut reads and doesn't substantiate much so this early play would be great way to make her self look town later on in the game.
