For a game of this size i had thought enough people had expressed interest in the initial thread i made above. I PM'd one (not talapus as he has obviously seen this thread) and he hasn't responded. As a mod I'm somewhat disappointed that signups are going backwards right now.

If it's an avenue you want me to pursue, I have a couple IRL friends (living in different cities so we can't screenlook) who like WoT, have expressed interest in Mafia games before, and are not on this site that I could invite.

I read the first three WoT books and I kinda liked them, but I don't know yet when I'll be on holiday during the summer. I could join but with the risk of dropping out and needing a replacement early.

Is this non-vanilla?

I'll call it non-vanilla, but it might not be "standard" NV in that everyone always has a night action.

I tried reading the first WoT book and got bored within the first 20 pages, but whatever, I'm in.

The first book is kinda boring, once you get through it the story becomes better. As with most fantasy book series.

I would partially agree here. Also many people find that the series slowed down around books 5-7 and even I since i've finished the entire series have the tendency to follow one characters story line more than others (Rand's gets really boring mid way through, but Perrins isn't bad and I really like Mat's). But overall it is one of my favorite if not my favorite series by an author, so just give the first chapters a little bit of time and it will get better.

It is not that I'm opposed to joining, I just know jack about the story. Like have never even heard of them, So it is why I haven't joined. Same with the Gotham game though, never watched the show. Though Batman is near and dear to my heart.

Its not required that you know the story that well

If you do, you might enjoy some of the quips and the like, but its not required
