Also, just a slight geographical change you'll need to fix, Valdez is east of Palmer, not west. So just change the Palmer territory to Valdez, and the Valdez territory to Palmer and that should fix it.
Also, the Halmes territory is really spelled Haines.
Banks should be Fairbanks.
Sand Point should be Aleutian Islands, unless you plan on adding more territories to that section and then you can narrow it down more.
You could split Nome in half horizontally and name the top half Kotzebue if you need extra territories.
You could use the Brooks Range and the Alaska Range mountains for natural barriers. Also the Yukon River.
Anyway, just my $.02.

That's it?

Well you don't wanna piss off people who actually live there so yeah the geography does seem a little important.

but gameplay is the main aspect, the balance betweem them has to be perfect
territory names

Maybe this is just me, but it seems that the area listed as 'Anchorage' should instead be called 'Kenai' as its the Kenai peninsula. To add to that, Anchorage is technically not located in the region called 'Anchorage' on your map, its across the inlet, in the area currently listed as 'Palmer'.
Also, Fairbanks is mistyped as 'Fairanks' on your map. Also, I'm pretty sure Fairbanks is more north than Tok, though thats not as big a deal, and I think Denali should really be located more where you have 'Healy'.
just my two cents

I think he means the "handle" looks like its own little Australia in the sense that once you have it you can only go one way with it.

Maybe like dipping into Canada a little?

I concur. It wouldn't be bad to move the bonus box to the left and smallerize the title to get a little bit of Yukon in there.

If you're gonna put in impassible borders you might wanna dip into Canada just to have a few more territories to play with.

(Just saying it might make it seem a little less like a tiny map).
P.S. I love the art for Alaska don't change it, not even those stars that are sorta... just... hanging... around...

Maybe a different color, one that would go with the map without blending in...
light gray maybe? Right now they look fuzzy where as the map is very defined in its color scheme...
P.S. Can Denali attack Palmer or not?(another reason why it looks funny)You see the mountains don't extend to the ocean nor do they bypass the border.

I think the idea of this map is great. I am hoping more individual state maps get made.
