Even if we forget about the low number of speed games available, this doesn't solve the problem for people that think like Evil Semp and therefore do not play speed games.
There is a major issue with deadbeating in speed game. Most people actually think it's allowed to deadbeat because so many people do it.
I think the best way to decrease deadbeating in speed games is advertising the rule ( intentionnal deadbeating is forbidden) in some way, combined with a harsh law enforcement of this one for a while ( i am thinking lots of warnings and maybe 1 week ban, not harsher because we don't want to lose too many players either).
And ofc a resign button with less constraints. (I hear you IcePack but we're talking about how to decrease deadbeating, you are on the wrong topic).
Here a sample of a common response someone made me when I asked him to not deadbeat a speed game :
They shold have a resign feature in here! I can't apologize for cutting out of that one. It would have been a waste of my time. Besides, people quit against me all the time when they see the game is lost. I don't care, that's fine, and I can't blame them.
Not the first time I see that, it's a pretty standard response. People think everyone is doing it so it's allright to do it.
We'd need a resign button available sooner for 1vs1 and especially getting rid of the 50% troops to be allowed to resign.
Before the 50% rule was implemented, I noticed a decrease of deadbeat in trench speed games. Since we changed that many people don't wait for the button to appear anymore.
It's especially a problem in baltic crusade ( probably the most popular map for 1vs1 trench speed) because of all the auto deploy that makes it difficult to have twice more than your opponent sometimes.
