Cena you're an idiot. Watch 'And the band played on'. It's a movie about the rise of AIDS. Pretty depressing.

and when they were finally beaten we wouldn't have been nearly as sypmpathetic to them as we were and they woudn't be the world power they are today. think puerto rico.

it was a horrible mistreatment of them. But why does progress have to come to grinding halt.

"the industrial revolution bad"

well if you don't like the industrial revolution then get the f*ck of your computer and sell all your stuff donate the money, and go follow Thoreau, and the indians and stop using your modern convinces to bitch at the rest of us for having them.

if you looked up the word hypocrite in the dictionary you'd find the deffination which you are.

1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
- hypocrite adjective

You could say that the Industrial Revolution was bad, mainly because it caused us to create unneccesary pollution which does affect our health. Even though I'm saying this I'm NOT an environmentalist or nature lover.

The question is though (and notice i didn't do the constant quotey thing), would we be better off having disentry, malaria, and wild animals trying to eat our sack cloth covered dangley bits ? Maybe a bit of warm weather was the better option :-s

The industrial revolution was good for all of us in our personal lives, but i think we can all agree the unfair treatment of workers was a tragedy (something that JSMill spoke out against, and eventually labour laws were put into place, getting rid of the poor conditions)

Gotcha.

The pros and cons of life without the industrial revolution can only ever be conjecture, we will never know if we'd be better off as gun toting victorians. Maybe the Bronze age was more significant...and would the only difference be that the chinese would discover electricity first ? :-s
