Thanks, but as much as I love your map (which got me to the front page in the first place, as well as creating my obsession with 1v1 games), there are now new toys to play with, which is the bit I really like most - restrategising for new maps.

with over 100 games and an addictive personality.... gambling...smoker...etc ive been fearful of gf retaliation for sometime, ive forgotten the number of CC related arguements or nights on the sofa because of it.... im now living in fear... considering not going to work or sleeping to keep a vigil by my computer... but as long as benjikat is not lost to CC... then no great loss... just a new challenge!! (glass half full attitude!) not to mention the challenge of finding people to play you!! yoo can count me out for sometime

Credit to the ingenius wife though... hit you where it hurts! my slightly less tactful GF wouldve just lobbed the puter out the window!

I have no doubt you will scale the CC ladder in good time though Benjikat, but hopefully not from the long haul games we are involved in!!

My wife thought (correctly) that my addiction to CC was getting out of hand and knew enough to start up a bunch of games and deadbeat them in order to destroy my score.

My apologies for all those who were inconvenienced by this, although bizarrely I only got 1 negative feedback, and a couple of players (you know who you are) kept coming back for more free points.

My apologies also to those in my other games, especially the 2000+ games, where I could get a ridiculous pts gain if I won, although I expect to be targeted in those games now for that very reason.

To start with I was pretty embarrassed by this, but I am spending too much time on CC, and this may have taught me a lesson now - so no more speed games for me, and I'll be trying to get back to captain in as few games as possible - it'll take a lot lot more than 53 though

PS I have now changed my password and disabled the greasemonkey autologin script!

Tell you what; I don't play much 1 vs 1 but I'd be willing to play best of 5 with you if you'll teach me AoM in the process. Even if I get lucky and win a couple you'll gain pts, and I'll consider the education well worth the investment.

The points are no biggie, I'll eventually rise to my level, a small detour is no concern.

wow....That is just a total violation of your space , can you imagine how she would react if you destroyed a project she was working on, or you spread rumors about her resulting in her rep getting dirtied.....bet she would not be so selfish in the future..Any ways I can relate to your situation with her getting upset over CC, my gf used to get jealous now she has her own account

I keep IE running most of the time and check news sites and such daily.

wife uses IE.

MFF is an unknown to wife.

Sort of, but she was really doing it for our daughter, who we have chosen to home educate, which I haven't been doing my share of. She has a point about that which is why I'm not nearly as angry as most of you would expect me to be.

I had already tried to entice her to join before - but she hasn't bitten (obviously), which is strange because we met because of games - Magic the Gathering tournaments in particular (another mainly skill, partly luck game).

I actually only like AoM for 1v1 games - although I have never played trips on it, which is actually fairly similiar in terms of strategy. I may take stringybeany up on his offer, but I am a little tired of those games ( I have played over 200! - and many of those I repeatedly beat early on are now using the same game setting to gain a load of points).

There is an enormous difference between losing 1200 virtual "points" on an internet site, and physical damage to my beloved MacBook Pro (which is actually owned by my employer). This is soemthing that would never happen.

The potential for me deadbeating in the future would be the risk associated with the potential of winning more points than we would usually expect.

I really thought that most responses would be laughing at me, but most seem to have been you guys wondering whether this could happen to you, and if so how you would cope with it.

As I said before the main bummer is that I have to play with the deadbeats, suiciders and idiots again for a while - although I may just choose to play trips with my regular teammates (who I think will just be happy with the extra points for a while).

Dear Benjikat,

Just read the thread after seeing your post in one of our joint games. Lots of questions arose in my mind about you and your wife, but I want to point out only a few critical precautions for you:

- First of all your wife seems to be very creative, so you should be prepared for everything unpredictable from her in the future. I would strongly recommend to change all passwords of your bank accounts, credit cards etc., because a misuse of those may have much greater effects than just 1000 CC points.

- The reason for her to open those 53 games causing a loss of 1000+ CC points was apparently your time spent on your computer. Considering this fact please spend less time with your mistress, or at least try to use some of your time at work. I know that you really prefer to be with your mistress rather than to be with your wife. This implement this measure will be hard for you, but you have to!

- Your wife is dangerous, but maybe not only for you. Think also others! I don't know in which city you live in Great Britain. The smaller the city you live in, the bigger your responsibility for the citizens. Inform them about the potential in your wife (like you did with this thread). Please consider also people who may not know you in personal and put a picture of your wife in media. The CC community is widely spread, so it may be a good idea to put a picture of her also in this thread.

- Don't let your wife read this thread, especially this post. In case that she somehow convinced you and read it, be prepared for the worst. For example, if she suddenly wants to use hand cliffs on you tonight, take this as a warning sign. Inform your best friend, they should check you in certain intervals. Phone calls may not be sufficient in this case, home visits are advised.

- One last issue for the CC mods. I suggest to transfer this thread to the "Announcements" forum. It's in the interest of every CC member to be informed about this case (actually it's a must) and it can be used as "lessons learned" for everyone.

I can totally relate to you.As of right now Ive been at my computer almost 8 hrs playing CC mostly speed games. My girlfriend is also becoming fast annoyed by this fact.I tell her it's either this which cost me 20$ or Im going to play poker which could cost me a few hundred in a night so she tolerates it to a certain degree. I also need to chill out on playing,however I dont foresee that happpening

Personally, I think this thread is kind of dumb. I feel sorry for you loosing all of those points, but in reality this just a game so some people need to find a better balance with life and the internet.

Couldn't agree with you more, and that is the whole point of the thread. Initially it was just a way of me being able to explain my rapid descent to all those people I was playing in games. Now, if it makes others think a little as to their possible addiction, then great.

After tonight I am now so embarrassed by my score that I have to just walk away.

Having been so proud of being on the front page of the scoreboard, it's pretty ironic that I'm now at the bottom of the last - and with a win % that's still 46%!

My sincere apologies to anyone in games that become imbalanced due to my deadbeating - especially those with my great teammates.

Thanks for the enjoyable games I've had with so many of you.
