most frenchies I've spoken to are as intelligent as anyone else. And they also have a sense of humour. Or humor, at least.

You wanna talk about bastardized? In Quebec, they hardly speak french at all, it's really more of a hybrid of french and english that's so muddled, merely being fluent in both isn't enough to translate!

Not everywhere, the northern regions are still very french and a lot of people don't know english (although this is changing really fast)
