The Bible, duh.

Some of the miracles are metaphors, and some of them are literal; like with all of the bible. You just need to know how to read it to make sure that you're getting the right end of the stick. If you take the whole thing in a rigid over-literal way then it's the most self-contradicting book in the world, you need to know when it's being serious, and when it's talking to you in an allegorical fashion.

In my opinion, we will never really know the truth about this and other things because we were not there. I am not saying anyone is right or wrong here, but how would you really know for sure.

In an entirely non-Dan Brown conspiracy bollocks sense, yes this is true.

Doesn't the gospel of Dan Brown stipulate that Jesus was married? Now, I know from first-hand experience that marriage doesn't mean someone isn't gay, but it makes it somewhat less likely, no?

i believe even non dan brown historical evidence suggests that for Jesus to be able to be the teacher he was often described to be, part of that social position would require him to be married.

Indeed it does.

Egypt was a multi-cultural society in which all were welcome. So I don't think Jesus was Black African, even though he lived in Egypt.
When did Jesus live in Egypt :?

i believe according to biblical accounts it would have been from the beginning of his life to about his teenage years as a result of king herod calling to kill all of the firstborn sons of isreal.

During his 'mystery years'.

Dan Brown simply plaguerised earlier works and it was a fictional book :D
Holy Blood and its follow up actually do contain some interesting stuff despite the over zealous conclusions they tend to leap towards, its a case of seperating the wheat from the chaff.

Oh come on. He was a rabbi, it is and was highly recommended (there are more fitting words for this) for them to be married.

Was Jesus Black? The answer is obviously yes.
At best, the lighter Egyptian color would be about as "black" as he would get. The whole Levant/Egyptian area had been colonized and their people's blended in with that of the Greeks, Romans, Persians, etc. If anything, he would be like that of Jews today, or possibly similar to that of the Arabs.

What I meant to say earlier in this was that the area had been colonized and integrated with Europeans and Asians for nearly 1000 years to this point at least.

So far as Jesus's "color": The concept of race was invented long after Jesus's life. Ethno-religiously, if he existed, he was certainly Jewish. Racially, according to our modern-day definitions, he cannot be definitively described.

Not so much if you're a historian... Mainly due to being a fantasised, critically non-researched conclusion-then-argument piece of trash. The Xtrabasco school of cut-and-paste non-history at its best!

Snorri, have you ever studied the New Testament? Have you even read the thing?
